This is your chance to lead two thrilling, fast-paced formats of basketball in a global, inclusive arena – helping deliver an unforgettable Games-time experience for athletes, officials, and fans alike.As Sport Competition Manager – 3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball, you will lead all planning and delivery aspects of these integrated competitions. Working closely with FIBA, IWBF, national federations, and internal delivery teams, you will ensure all technical, operational, and logistical components meet international standards and align with the values and objectives of Glasgow 2026.This role is central to delivering a seamless, accessible, and athlete-first competition experience. You’ll collaborate with teams across Venue Operations, Technology, Logistics, and Workforce, while managing a small internal team and working hand-in-hand with sport stakeholders to achieve Games-time excellence.Job Summary: As Sport Competition Manager – 3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery of both competitions, ensuring all operations align with FIBA, IWBF, and Commonwealth Sport standards. You will lead the development and implementation of the sport-specific delivery plan, incorporating timelines, infrastructure needs, Field of Play design, and integration with other Functional Areas.You will work closely with Technology teams to integrate scoring, timing, and results systems tailored to both sports, manage site visits, and support the creation of key technical documents such as sport manuals and bulletins. You’ll also play a key role in the creation of the Detailed Competition and Activity Schedule (DCAS), aligning basketball delivery with the wider Games operations.Relationship management will be key, as you’ll be the primary contact for FIBA, IWBF, NGBs, and CGAs. You’ll support the recruitment and management of Technical Officials, lead a volunteer team, and line-manage Sport Coordinators and Technical Operations Managers. You’ll also contribute to readiness activities, legacy documentation, and knowledge transfer to ensure lasting impact beyond the Games.Key Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will have a strong track record delivering national or international basketball competitions, ideally including 3x3 and/or 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball. You will have a detailed understanding of FIBA and IWBF rules, formats, and technical standards, and proven experience operating in a major event or multi-sport Games context.You will bring exceptional project management and leadership skills, capable of coordinating people, processes, and timelines in a high-pressure, cross-functional environment. Your interpersonal and communication skills will support strong stakeholder relationships, while your problem-solving ability and operational focus will ensure efficient, high-quality delivery.Experience in para or inclusive sport competitions will be highly valued, as will your knowledge of Games-time scheduling, venue overlay, and the wider values and strategy of Glasgow 2026. You’ll be confident with IT systems including Microsoft Office and competition-specific software, and bring a mindset focused on accessibility, innovation, and legacy.Why Glasgow 2026?
