Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 5 September 2025 Interview date 8 September 2025 Job Description Gateshead Football Club is recruiting part time pitchside Physiotherapists/ Sports Therapists to provide medical provision for fixtures and training. This includes assessment, treatment and management of injuries sustained during training or match play (home / away fixtures). This role will involve travel, overnight stays and weekend working.Pitch side trauma qualification essential (e.g. PHICIS, ATMMIF) or willingness to complete asap, course fees could be covered by the club if the candidate meets set criteria which will be discussed at interview.This part time role would suit someone newly qualified looking to get involved in professional sport or someone with sufficient experience who would like to continue working in sport but without the consistent commitment to long hours / travel / weekend working. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMedical delivery and supervision: Liaise with coaching staff regarding players’ injury status and availability Be in attendance at national league fixtures throughout the season as required (home / away – will include travel/ overnight stays/ weekend working)Assess and manage injuries and illnesses.Provide treatment and rehabilitation to players on training days as requiredDesign and deliver individual injury prevention programmes Keep records which meet the standard required by The FA and the appropriate professional bodiesExperience:• Experience of working in an elite football environment would be preferred• Previous knowledge and experience in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of athletes.• Experience in pitch-side cover and leading of match day medical services.• Evidence of integrating injury prevention programmes into routine medical approach.• Experience of implementing objective testing on a day-to-day basis as part of the rehabilitation process for injured players.Qualifications & Training:• BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent.• Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists or equivalent governing body – individual indemnity insurance would be required.• ATMMiF qualified or equivalent – or willingness to complete asap, course fees could be covered by the club if the candidate meets set criteria which will be discussed at interview.
