Lead Academy Sports Scientist Organisation Fulham Football Club Salary Competitive Location Fulham Football Club Training Ground Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 2 May 2025 Job Description We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Lead Academy Sport Scientist to join our Academy Management Team.This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for the strategic co-ordination, alignment and delivery of Sport Science services across the Academy, supporting the physical development, robustness, health, and wellbeing of all players on the pathway.The successful candidate will drive a collaborative approach to physical performance development, ensuring best practice delivery in line with the Academy Performance Plan and the club’s philosophy.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and implement a physical development strategy across all Academy age groups in line with the club's philosophy and EPPP standards. Work closely with the academy’s technical team to enhance and maximise interdisciplinary collaboration.Establish positive relationships with senior management to address performance, player management, and support service operations.Provide cultural, strategic, and operational leadership to support service staff, contributing expertise within the Academy leadership team.Liaise with first-team staff to ensure effective communication, coherent player development, and smooth transitions between the first team and Academy.Maintain the highest safeguarding standards within the performance services team.Oversee data integration and visualization to inform daily decisions, programme planning, player reviews, succession planning, and recruitment.Conduct performance appraisals with direct reports and assist in appraisals across the wider service team.Facilitate individualised development strategies for direct reports and support the progression of the wider service team to foster a high-performance environment.Utilise effective KPIs to ensure accountability and drive best practices across the programme.Represent the department in key multidisciplinary team meetings, including those for weekly planning, player reviews, succession planning, and player wellness.Contribute to Academy events such as inductions, workshops, and games.Develop and maintain an effective staffing structure to deliver best practice service and support player development and performance.Ensure compliance with League and EPPP standards concerning Sport Science services.Engage in personal development and promote a culture of hard work and growth.
