Independent Members - Women's and Girls Advisory Committee Organisation Football Association of Wales Salary Voluntary position (expenses only) Location Flexible Contract type Volunteer Closing date 20 June 2025 Interview date 2 July 2025 Job Description Position OverviewThe Independent Members of the FAW's Women’s and Girl’s Advisory Committee will play a crucial role in advising and supporting the development of the women and girls’ game in Wales. Committee Terms of ReferenceTo offer the views of the Members and to have oversight for all aspects of strategy to do with the women’s and girls’ game;To develop the women’s and girls’ game and pathway; To provide scrutiny and support on the delivery of the strategy for the women’s and girl’s game; and To receive performance reports and monitoring of progress against strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities- Advice and guidance - Provide expert advice and recommendations on areas of expertise within women’s and girl’s football. - Strategic direction - Provide insight to FAW staff on the strategic direction for women’s and girl’s football. - Constructive challenge - Provide the right degree of constructive challenge to the FAW staff teams, contributing to the FAW’s strategic direction through the agreement of corporate objectives and key performance indicators and tracking performance again them.- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other committee members, FAW staff, and external partners to develop and implement effective plans, programmes and initiatives. - Monitoring and Evaluation: Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of activities within women’s and girl’s football in Wales.Person SpecificationExperienceWe would like our independent committee members to have experience in at least one of the following areas:Expertise and experience in professional women’s football and club development including talent pathways and player developmentand/orExpertise in commercialising women’s and girls’ football/sportand/orExperience of successful strategy delivery and implementationand/orExperience of shaping governance, empowering women into leadership positionsKnowledge and SkillsUnderstanding of women & girls’ footballUnderstanding of intersectional barriers and challenges for women and girls in physical activity, and ability to apply this to a Welsh context.Passion and drive to engage, increase and retain women and girls in football activity.Innovative approaches to developing solutions and providing insight for change.Strategic planning including experience of interpreting data and research insight.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Highly resilient, self-motivated and self-directed.Advocacy skills and ability to offer constructive challengeAbility to speak Welsh would be advantageous BehavioursAbility to build effective working relationships across a variety of stakeholders.
