Job Description
Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club are looking to expand its Women’s sports medical team with an exciting opportunity arising at for a Club physiotherapist. Exeter Chiefs Women are the West Country’s Premier Sporting Club Formed in 2019, Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club is steeped in long-standing tradition and prides itself on delivering professional workmanship, both on and off the field. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking, and dynamic club physiotherapists. The successful applicant will be driven to advance, develop and improve an already high performing medical department.

Role: The role will entail providing effective, high-quality practice to players. You will work in the medical department under the leadership of the Lead Physiotherapist. The role will require flexibility and include weekend work (match days).

The candidate will act as lead physiotherapist for the U23 Squad and non-senior players while supporting the lead physio in the management and treatment of senior players. This will include the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and implementation of rehabilitation plans for all assigned players.
You will provide pitch-side medical care during training sessions and matches, as allocated. Also, you will review player status via the Kitman Labs monitoring system before training/matches and implement appropriate strategies based on triage outcomes.
Maintain regular communication with the lead physio regarding new injuries, chronic conditions, rehabilitation progress, player absences, and mental health concerns (with consent or when it affects training/player management).This will also entail liaising with the rehabilitation specialist and athletic performance coach to coordinate comprehensive long-term rehabilitation plans and work collaboratively throughout the process.
Attendance at medical review appointments with the team doctor as per the rotation schedule, biweekly or when accompanying a player under your care is required. You must always adhere to and implement medical processes as agreed upon by the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Essential requirements:
· BSc in Physiotherapy
· Member of the CSP or equivalent insurance provider
· Registration with HCPC
· Current driver’s license
Highly desirable:
· Experience working in sport
· PHICIS pitch side qualification

Management responsibilities:
Serve as lead physiotherapist for U23 squad and non-senior players
Lead on IMG (impact mouthguard) matters, liaise with the RFU/Prevent, arrange fittings for players, and ensure timely completion of administrative tasks.

Administrative responsibilities:
Support the lead physio, team doctor, and medical administrator with the implementation of MOS (Minimum Operating Standards), as required
Ensure timely and accurate completion (within one week) of all medical documentation, including medical notes, rehabilitation planners, team medical status reports and player handover sheets
Accurately capture injury data in the WRISP system
Provide daily medical updates for assigned players both before and after training sessions Communicate medical updates for U23 and non-senior players to relevant club and international medical teams
Attend daily MDT meetings and weekly physiotherapy team meetings
Participate in the RFU Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Complete all relevant RFU and World Rugby courses before the start of the season
Ensure PHICIS documentation is current and up to date
