Job Description
Who are we: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation, professionalism and community.

During the course of a glittering history spanning three centuries, the Club has been shaped and guided by its aspirational motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - nothing but the best is good enough.

Alongside a Senior Men’s Team that has played more games in English football's top flight than any other, Everton Women have been a leading light in driving forward the professionalism of the women’s game.

With roots that go back to the mid-1980s, Everton Women were formally established in 1995 and won the English league title just three seasons later.

League runners-up five times in the following decade, the team also won two Women's FA Cups and a Women's League Cup before proudly becoming one of the eight founder members of the Women's Super League in 2011.

In September 2025, the iconic Goodison Park - Everton's main stadium since 1892 - became the permanent home of Everton Women, signalling the dawn of an exciting new chapter for one of the women's game most storied clubs.

About the opportunity: As we continue to build an elite, player-centred environment, we are seeking an Academy Performance Lifestyle Practitioner – Everton Women to support the holistic development and performance of players within our Professional Games Academy (PGA).

Working closely with Coaching, Medical and Performance staff, you will help and support in embedding performance lifestyle, psychological and behavioural strategies into the everyday Academy environment, helping players develop the skills, behaviours and mindset required to maximise their potential.

Other key responsibilities include:

Delivering performance lifestyle and holistic player support across the Women’s Academy.
Building trusted relationships with players, understanding their individual needs, aspirations and challenges.
Co-creating tailored support and feedback with players as part of their Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Supporting players with areas including wellbeing, resilience, confidence, mindset, lifestyle, motivation and personal responsibility.
Working collaboratively with the wider MDT to ensure player development is integrated across Coaching, Medical and Performance.
Supporting players through key stages and transitions within their development pathway.
Delivering relevant education and development programmes for players.
Identifying and respond appropriately to wellbeing or lifestyle concerns, working with relevant colleagues where required.
Championing an environment that promotes wellbeing, empowerment and lifelong success for female players.
Who we are looking for: We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of the psychological, behavioural and lifestyle factors that influence performance and development, with excellent relationship-building and communication skills and a genuinely player-centred approach.

Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment, an understanding of the specific needs of female athletes and the women’s game, and a strong commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing and creating positive environments for young players are also essential.

Essential Qualifications needed for this role:

BSc (Hons), MSc in Psychology/Sports Psychology.
Be a registered member of the Health Care Professions Council (“HCPC”) or on an approved training route (QSEP, SEPAR or HCPC Approved Professional Doctorate).
Level 3 Athlete personal and development lifestyle certification, or willing to complete
UK Anti-Doping Introduction to Clean Sport Certificate, or willing to complete
MHFA Youth Mental Health First Aid Award, or willing to complete
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the development environment for the next generation of Everton Women players, ensuring they are supported to thrive both on and off the pitch.

The role is permanent and will be based at Finch Farm training ground in Liverpool (Halewood), however there is expected frequent travel involved within the post, working 40 hours per week plus matchdays if needed.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 20th October 2026.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a substantial amount of applications.
