About the opportunity: For decades, our Club’s Academy has been one of the most respected and renowned in football, and its vision to develop young players who are technically and tactically capable of playing for Everton or having a career in the professional game remains as focused as ever. We have an exciting opportunity for a Goalkeeping Coach to join the Academy Coaching department based at Finch Farm Training Ground. As Academy Goalkeeping Coach you will be responsible for the overall holistic management, development and coaching of Goalkeepers, within the Youth Development phase U12-U16 in line with the Coaching philosophy, vision and values of the Academy and the Club as a whole. In your role you will work closely with the Head of Academy Goalkeeping Coaching, and the wider MDT, to ensure that the needs of all players are fully catered for in the same manner. Other key responsibilities as part of this role will include: Coaching To be responsible for planning, and delivering, the development programme for goalkeepers; working towards the objectives as per the curriculum. Incorporating technical, tactical, physical and psychological elements, guiding the players through the progressive complexity of the relevant training and games programme in line with the Game Model Principles To coach and manage the goalkeepers, within the Youth Development phase U12-U16, in games programme, friendly and tour/tournament matches (both domestic and abroad); maintaining and ensuring the highest possible standards across all developmental areas both on and off the field To actively lead all key Academy personnel when planning and arranging coaching sessions and matches to ensure that the appropriate support is in place and that the timetable fits with all other Academy activities To create and evaluate all coaching sessions, build all relevant match information, and ensure that all information is recorded fully, within agreed timescales, on the Club’s Football Intelligence Platform where appropriate, then using this information to aid the informing of decisions surrounding individual player development and progression Player Development and Progression To profile the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes of each player, then create and agree individual development programmes for them. In line with the curriculum and game model principles, create specific sessions that challenge the players Individual Learning Objectives. To compile performance reviews and deliver feedback to players and parents both formally in meetings, and informally as required. To liaise on a daily basis with the Outfield Coaches, within the Youth Development phase U12-U16, to ensure that the needs of all players are catered for Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for someone who has an excellent track record of working within the football industry, in particular experience of working with goalkeepers and supporting children during coaching sessions. Organisational and time management skills will be key to succeed in this role as you must have the ability to plan and co-ordinate activities for a large number of people. Our successful candidate will have a genuine passion and commitment to ensuring professionalism and behaviours are consistently in line with Club values.
