British Lacrosse High Performance Coach | Men's Olympic Sixes Team Organisation England Lacrosse Salary Voluntary (reasonable expenses covered) Location Nationwide Contract type Volunteer Closing date 22 September 2025 Interview date 29 September 2025 Job Description British Lacrosse is seeking to appoint a High Performance Coach for the Men’s Olympic Sixes Team through to the end of the 2028 Olympic cycle.Reporting to the Performance Lead, the successful candidate will lead the technical, tactical, and cultural development of the team, and ensure sustained performance at major international competitions.The role requires strong leadership, an ability to design and deliver high-performance environments at pace, and the vision to embed a clear British playing identity and pathway.The role will also require coordination and collaboration with the British Lacrosse Coaching Leadership Team (CLT), formed of the High Performance Coach for the Women´s Olympic Sixes Team, and a High Performance Mentor.This role will report directly to the Performance Lead, and will be accountable for the delivery of the coaching performance.Key Responsibilities Coaching Leadership:We´re looking for a Performance Coach to lead, coordinate and transform British Lacrosse Coaching.Provide overall coaching leadership for the Men’s Olympic Sixes programme, whilst maintaining responsibility for the technical, tactical, physical and emotional development of individual players and the team as a whole.Coordinate overall coaching activity in collaboration with the Coaching Leadership Team (CLT).To collaborate with performance support staff (sports science, medicine, analysis) to optimise player health, welfare, and performance.And to coordinate the cohort of technical coaches to ensure the delivery of the BL Performance Roadmap and performance priorities.Creating an exceptional Performance Environment: We´re looking for a leader with experience in creating positive, athlete centric, collaborative sporting environments.To develop a consistent performance identity aligned with British Lacrosse values.To support players and staff in performance transitions, whilst remaining accountable to World Class standards.To inspire through world class leadership.Developing World Class 6s:We´re looking for a coach with not only extensive lacrosse experience, but the vision to drive the game of 6s forward at a global level at pace, with BL leading the way.To lead the understanding and development of the 6s game at a global level.To support the Performance Lead and all other staff in establishing a clear vision and direction in the BL “6s Identity”, built around our style of play, core values, performance strengths and culture.Supporting Duties: Some supporting duties may include (but not limited to): • Lead the design and delivery of domestic and international training, international competition preparation, and on-field performance. This role will be primarily focused on supporting the development of our Podium and Podium Potential Athletes.• To work with and support, where required, the Performance Lead on all aspects of campaign planning and performance roadmap delivery.• Manage player selection, depth chart development, and ongoing talent identification.• Mentor assistant coaches and contribute to aligned development across the pathway.• Represent British Lacrosse domestically and internationally, upholding the organisation’s standards of professionalism and integrity.• To disseminate and cascade technical and tactical coaching information to the Development Team coaches, and Home Nation coaching programs to ensure that there is aligned development of high-performance coaching and standards of play in the UK – including through coaching clinics and Head Coaches forums where appropriate. • To actively engage with the wider UKS and Team GB coaching community to further our understanding of coaching best practices. To lead the UKS Teamsport coach knowledge exchange forum.• To work with the Performance Lead in building relationships with wider lacrosse entities throughout the world, and the UK.Our ideal candidate is someone with world class coaching experience, and who has a clear coaching vision. Someone who has a proven leadership record, and understands what it takes to win at the highest level of teamsports. Is data driven, yet appreciates the subtleties of team and individual athlete empowerment, and possesses excellent softskills. Who is approachable yet not afraid to challenge or be challenged. A leader, who is calm under pressure, and has a “first in-last out” approach. Essential:• Significant coaching experience at elite international and/or professional level in lacrosse (Sixes experience desirable).• Proven success in leading high-performance teams and developing athletes.• World Class knowledge of international lacrosse and the Sixes format. • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.• Commitment to safeguarding, anti-doping, equality, diversity and inclusion.• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and international travel. Desirable:• Experience of leading within an Olympic or multi-sport environment.• Understanding of British sporting structures and performance pathways.• Coaching qualifications recognised by the ICF, ICCE or World Lacrosse Contract & Remuneration• Term: Fixed-term to December 2028 (subject to Olympic cycle review).• Time Commitment: Part-time contract, with peak periods around international windows, camps, training events and tournaments.• Location: UK Based is essential, with travel across the UK and internationally.• Remuneration: To be negotiated.
