Job Description
ABOUT US
The Trailfinders Rugby Academy is the academy of Ealing Trailfinders, an ambitious and progressive, rugby union club based at Brunel University, West London.
The Academy’s aim is to produce world class talent through a dual elite rugby and academic journey.
This is an opportunity to join Trailfinders during a very exciting period of the Club’s history.

THE ROLE
To coach the fresher/development squad programme at Brunel, in line with the direction of the Lead Academy Coach.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the backs and attack coaching of the fresher/development squad programme at Brunel, in line with the direction of the Lead Academy Coach.
• Assist with coaching of the Brunel Saturday squad when required.
• Assist with coaching of the Ealing U18 pathway when required.
• Lead sessions at partner schools as required.
• Lead IDP process across the development group at Brunel.
• Provide coach development for the coaches of partner schools.
• Submit weekly reports to the Lead Academy Coach and monthly reports to senior Ealing Trailfindes staff on the development progress of players in the development group at Brunel.
• Liaise with S&C staff over off-season development programmes for fresher intake and freshers moving into their second year under the guidance of the Lead Academy Coach.
• Early engagement with incoming freshers not involved in Phase 1 or 2 preseason start dates.
• To run “Alignment Camps” with incoming freshers before their full-time arrival at Brunel.
• To spend one session per week with the senior team at Ealing Trailfinders.
• Actively continue with own professional and personal development.
• Always be a strong, consistent example of all the Club’s values and vision, including high standards, hard work, respect, and unity.
• Set a positive example and contribute positively to the team environment and culture.
• Complete any other reasonable request.

THE PERSON

Experience
Essential
• Experience coaching backs and attack.
• Recent and relevant experience of coaching academy age players.
Desirable
• Experience working at all levels of the professional game.
• Experience of developing players who have gone on to play elite rugby.

Qualifications
Essential
• Level 3 Coaching Certificate.

Skillset
Essential
● Knowledge and understanding of player pathways.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and present information clearly.
