Job Description
ABOUT US
As our Women’s Premiership team enters its 3rd season, we are looking for an outstanding coach to lead our physical performance department.
The aim of Trailfinders women’s team is to compete in the top 4 of the PWR and providing players the opportunities to play international rugby.
This is an opportunity to join Trailfinders during a very exciting period of the Club’s history.

THE ROLE
We are looking for someone to lead the physical performance program. This person should be a highly competent strength and conditioning coach, and also possess good leadership and managerial skills. The key aspect of this role will be to plan and deliver the program to improve all key physical qualities: strength, speed, condition, flexibility etc.
They will also be expected to liaise closely with rugby staff in the planning of training both in the short-term and long-term.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and physical preparation of the women’s premiership team. This involves the planning and delivery of key physical qualities (strength, speed, conditioning, injury prevention etc).
• Plan and co-ordinate the weekly schedule with all key stakeholders.
• Manage the physical performance coach (Trailfinders Women) and physical performance coach (Brunel).
• Be proactive and manage the recruitment of interns, and provide mentorship throughout the season.
• Provide flexible session delivery to athletes in and around their commitments across the week.
• Work closely with other staff such as the Club Nutritionist and external psychology provision.
• Attend training at Brunel University where the women’s academy is based and provide mentorship and feedback to performance staff.
• Attend all Premiership games.
• To contribute positively to the team environment and culture
• Be a strong consistent example of all the Club’s values and vision and success standards.

THE PERSON
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
• Minimum of 5 years experience in full time strength and conditioning post qualifications.
• Minimum of 2 years experience leading a strength and conditioning department OR working in a senior role with line management and mentoring experience.
• Experience of mentoring other staff and reviewing of coaching practices.
• Experience of working with female athletes.

QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
• MSc in strength & conditioning/sport science relating subject.
• BSc in strength & conditioning/sport science relating subject.
• UKSCA/NSCA/ASC qualification.
One of the three is essential
DESIRABLE
• Evidence of further qualifications/study in leadership and management.
• Evident of further qualifications/study in sports psychology.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build relationships quickly and influence key stakeholders.
• Possess an adaptable and solution focused approach.
• Show a thirst for knowledge through continuous learning and evidence of this.
• Sets and demands high standards.
• Demonstrates sound leadership principles.
• Able to lead and also follow when required.
