Job Description
Durham Women FC are seeking a passionate and experienced coach to join our Professional Game Academy as an Under 16 Coach.

This part-time role will see you work with the U16 team within our academy structure – developing players as part of the club’s overall strategy.

📝 Role Title: U16 Coach (Part-Time)

👥 Reports to: Head of Football / Academy Manager

📍 Location: Maiden Castle, DH1 3SE

💰 Salary: Competitive hourly rate, dependent upon experience

📅 Closing Date: 18th August, 5pm

🔍 About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about developing young female talent and is committed to supporting the growth of the women's game. As an U16 Coach, you will work closely with the Academy Manager to deliver high-quality coaching sessions, in line with the Academies playing and coaching philosophy.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

· Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging, age-appropriate, and progressive training sessions in line with the Academy's coaching curriculum.

· Focus on technical, tactical, and physical development while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

· Provide individualized feedback to players to enhance their performance and support their individual development plans.

· Monitor and assess player progress through regular performance reviews and match evaluations.

· Coach and manage Academy teams during matches and tournaments, ensuring adherence to playing philosophy and values.

· Work collaboratively with the Academy Manager, Assistant Coach, and multidisciplinary support staff to ensure a holistic approach to individual player development

· Communicate effectively with players, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.

· Act as a role model, demonstrating professionalism and respect in all interactions whilst showcasing the same values we want to instil in the players.

· Utilise the Clubs Coach Competency Framework (CCF) and Coach Development Action Plan to ensure continuous development.

· Ensure age group requirements in line with PGA operating criteria are met within the desired timeframes.

· Promote and ensure the welfare, safety, and well-being of all players, adhering to the club’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

· Ensure understanding, awareness and compliance at all times with the Club’s Health & Safety Policy.

· The successful applicant will be expected to attend all training sessions and home and away matches.

This list is not intended to be exhaustive, and the successful candidate may be asked to complete

other roles and duties to ensure the successful running of the football club.

🧠 What We’re Looking For

Essential:

· UEFA B Licence or higher

· FA Safeguarding qualification

· FA Emergency Aid qualification

· Experience coaching within a youth development environment

· Understanding of the FA’s Girls' and Women’s Player Pathway

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in sport.

· Availability for evening and weekend work.

Desirable:

· Experience working within an elite football environment.

· Full clean UK Driving Licence

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to complete FA Safeguarding Qualifications, an Enhanced DBS check and any other qualifications as required by the club or WSL Football.
