Location Bristol Contract type Fixed Term (Full time) Closing date 6 January 2026 Job Description We are looking for two enthusiastic and committed Sports Assistants to join our popular and high-achieving Prep School.The role will include:- Assisting the PE and Sports departments at the Prep School (ages 3–11)- Providing assistance in academic and creative lessons- Joining residential trips, adding an extra layer of support and supervision- Administrative tasks in support of the sporting provision- Supporting Games at the Senior School (ages 11-18)- Supporting and officiating weekend fixtures at the Senior School with the major sports being rugby, netball, hockey and cricket.Expert Mentorship and Development:When helping at the Senior School, the successful candidates will work with and be supported by members of our Sports department. This includes our Head of Rugby, Olly Robinson (who has contributed to teams winning the European Challenge Cup, the Gallagher Premiership and the RFU Championship whilst playing for Bristol Bears, Cardiff Blues and Leicester Tigers), and Head of Netball, Ursula ‘Billy’ Pritchard (who played at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships, captained Wales in the 2007 World Cup and won the Super and Super League title with Team Bath).In recent years Sports Assistants have developed their teamwork, resilience, confidence and problem-solving skills and subsequently gained employment as teachers and sports coaches, two of them at Collegiate School. Sports Assistants find the placement deeply rewarding.Explore Opportunities Across Departments:When time allows there is opportunity to spend time and learn about other departments within the school that may be of interest, for example Marketing. We would also be happy to provide time for Sports Assistants to complete coaching and/or officiating courses to support their future career ambitions.Hours:Sports Assistants work 40 hours across 6 days for all of term time (35 weeks).
