TERMS AND CONDITIONS SPECIFIC TO THE ROLE

• Fixed term contract until July 2026.
• Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week. Including some Saturday Sport Fixtures.
• Pro-Rated salary range from £19,664.03 to 20,432.16 pa. (£25,062 to £26,041 pa FTE)

Clifton High School is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports Assistant to join our thriving Physical Education and Sports Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about youth sport and physical development, looking to gain hands-on experience in a vibrant educational setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery and support of Junior Core PE and Games lessons, while also contributing to team sports training and fixtures.

The key responsibilities for this role include:
• Deliver and support Junior Core PE lessons under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Assist in Games lessons across various year groups.
• Lead one or more school sports teams, including:
o Planning and delivering after-school training sessions.
o Managing teams during fixtures and competitions, including Saturdays
• Contribute to the wider sporting life of the school, including events and inter-house competitions.
• Promote fundamental movement skills and principles of fitness in all activities.
• Support the department in administrative and logistical tasks related to sport and PE.

We are looking for someone with experience coaching sport and working with young people, who has a strong understanding of movement skills and fitness principles. You should hold relevant coaching qualifications and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive and flexible approach is essential for supporting a busy department.

Experience in a school or youth sport environment, multi-sport coaching ability, and a First Aid qualification are desirable. Please note, this is not a teaching role, but experience in educational or youth settings is highly valued.
