Job Description
Sports Delivery Administrator

Department: Sport & Physical Activity Team

Reports To: Senior Sport & Physical Activity Lead

Direct Reports: None

Contract: Full time, hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Grade: 8

Salary: 27,000 per annum

Job Purpose: The role will provide essential administrative and operational support to Sport & Physical Activity Team, ensuring the smooth delivery of sports events, activities, and initiatives across CSSC.

The role will be responsible for a wide range of administrative tasks, including venue bookings, event listings, processing entries, managing volunteer expenses, coordinating event communications, and gathering insight to monitor key performance indicators. The role will ensure that members have access to well-organised, engaging, and well-promoted sport & physical activity opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Event & Activity Administration

Support the delivery of CSSC’s events and activities through effective administrative support.

Manage venue bookings, supplier arrangements, and logistical coordination.

Upload and maintain event information on CSSC’s website and other platforms.

Process event entries, registrations, and payments.

Assist with volunteer expense claims and reimbursement processes.

Communications & Promotion

Support the promotion of sports events and activities through internal and external communication channels.

Ensure events are promoted and communicated effectively.

Act as a point of contact for event enquiries, providing information and guidance to members and volunteers.

Data, Insight & Reporting

Assist in monitoring event participation, volunteer engagement, and other KPIs.

Collect, record, and organise data from events and activities.

Support the production of reports and insight to inform decision-making.

Help maintain accurate databases and records of sports activity.

Team & Organisational Support

Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Sport & Physical Activity Team.

Support cross-team projects and initiatives within the sports transformation programme.

Assist with meeting coordination, minute-taking, and follow-up actions where required.

Contribute to the smooth running of the sport & physical activity team by providing flexible administrative support as needed.

Person Specification

Essential:

Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.

Experience of providing administrative or operational support in events, sport, or a related environment.

Strong IT skills, including MS Office and database systems.

Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.

Customer-focused approach, with the ability to support volunteers, colleagues, and members.

Experience of handling data and producing basic reports.

Desirable:

Experience of working in sport, events, or membership organisations.

Knowledge of event management systems, CRM platforms, or online booking tools.

Familiarity with communication and marketing tools.

Experience of working with volunteers.

Knowledge of the civil service and public sector environment.
