Lead Academy Physiotherapist / Sports Therapist / Sports Rehabilitator Organisation Castleford Tigers Salary £25,000 - £30,000 (experience dependent) Location Castleford, West Yorkshire Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 17 September 2025 Job Description THE ROLECastleford Tigers RLFC are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Lead Academy Physio / Sports Therapist / Sports Rehabilitator to deliver a physiotherapy provision across our youth and academy programmes, with some crossover into First Team support.This is a key role within our medical department, supporting the health, development, and performance of our academy athletes. The successful applicant will work within a supportive governance structure and alongside senior medical staff, with opportunities for professional growth and involvement across the wider club.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for Academy and Scholarship players.- Deliver pitch-side trauma and match-day cover for Academy and selected Reserves fixtures.- Keep accurate, contemporaneous medical records and contribute to injury surveillance.- Communicate effectively with coaches, performance staff, players, and families.- Support the First Team medical staff where required.Working hours are predominantly during the day, with some evening and weekend work required depending on fixtures.ESSENTIAL CRITERIARelevant professional qualification: - Physiotherapist: HCPC & CSP registered - Sports Therapist: Society of Sports Therapists registered - Sports Rehabilitator: BASRaT registered- Minimum 1 year post-graduate experience- Level 3 pitch-side trauma qualification (IMMOFP, PHICIS L3, or equivalent) or Level 2 trauma qualification with a willingness to complete Level 3 as soon as possible- Eligible to work in the UK- Full UK driving licence- Willingness to work evenings and weekends to cover training and fixturesDESIRABLE CRITERA- Previous experience in elite sport or elite rugby.- Experience working with youth athletes.- NHS experience.
