Job Description
The Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, CASES, is the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK. Our mission is to drive excellence in sport and exercise sciences through the promotion of evidence-based practice and the development and enhancement of professional and ethical standards. This includes a number of services and support, including Membership, Accreditations and Certifications, Conferences and Events, Research and Publications, and Partnerships. In 2024, we were granted the Charter of Incorporation by His Majesty King Charles III in recognition of the Association’s quality and status as the pre-eminent body for the discipline of sport and exercise science in the UK. We are a growing organisation, delivering well into the second year of our current 2025-2028 Strategy. So, now is an exciting time to join our Association!

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic marketing and administration assistant. The successful applicant will take on responsibility for supporting the implementation of the CASES marketing strategy and undertaking an administrative role for the organisation.

This exciting role is designed for a proactive and independent individual who would like to apply their marketing and administration skills to a membership organisation, in a role which offers significant importance within a small operations team. It would suit someone with a passion and background in marketing, social media and administration. In the role, you will be working with a range of individuals from across the Association, its Divisions, Advisory Groups, Special Interest Groups, external partners, and stakeholders.

Key duties and responsibilities include:
1. Managing the CASES enquiries inbox.
2. Monitoring and creating content for the organisation's social media platforms, news items, mailshots and newsletters.
3. Promotion of CASES membership benefits, products and services.
4. Supporting the delivery of communications as part of CASES’ commercial, advertising and partnership relationships.
5. Listing, promoting and supporting CASES events and CPD events including the CASES Conference.
6. Reviewing, maintaining and updating the CASES external and member websites.
7. Administration support for key meetings and supporting documentation.
8. Attending relevant conferences, events and exhibitions to promote CASES.
9. Reporting on analytics and activity from the CASES website, Members website, social media and event listings.
10. General administration support for the Operational Team and marketing and communications activities to support the MarComms Manager.

Essential and desirable candidate Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Capabilities:

Essential
• Passionate about marketing with an interest in sport, health, and physical activity
• Prior experience in a relevant administration, marketing or communications role
• Reliable and dependable individual who can work independently and as a vital part of a small team
• A track record of providing effective customer-facing administrative support, such as managing email and telephone enquiries.
• Some exposure to working with CRM systems
• Experience of website management
• Experience of promoting member, customer, or beneficiary-focused communications e.g., newsletters, website content
• A good working knowledge of, creating content for and using social media sites (X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Confident and enthusiastic
• Good attention to detail with an understanding of branding
Desirable
• Experience of working in a member-focussed environment
• Experience using email marketing systems (e.g. Gatormail)
• Experience of using Canva
• Experience in creating forms and surveys (e.g. Cognito forms and Survey Monkey)
• Experience of working with a variety of partners and stakeholders to build and maintain relationships
• A professional or academic qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Business Administration, Marketing, Digital Marketing, PR, Media, Communications or Journalism)
• Interest in sport and exercise sciences
