Job Description
Job title: Academy Performance Analyst (u21’s)
Employer: Cardiff City Football Club

Contract: Full Time

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week on a flexible basis to include evening and weekend working where required

Academy Head of Academy Analysis

Job purpose
The Academy works to a clear focus on learning and performance analysis across the Academy plays a pivotal role. The main purpose of this role is to lead the analysis workflow for the Under 21 team to maximise both player and coach development. Key roles include organising pre-match framing and opposition analysis, live match coding, post-match analysis using both video and data, and to support individual player development.

Main duties
Matchday Analysis
Film and capture all U21s matches, and ensure footage is shared with relevant staff, players, and other stakeholders.
Analyse and live code games to provide immediate feedback to coaching staff and players, at half-time and full-time.
Manage the logistics of relevant analysis equipment.

Post-Match Analysis
Liaise and work with coaching staff to provide feedback from previous game linked to the Academy game model and objectives of training cycle.
Collection and management of data to compile match reports in line with the Academy game model.
Create video clips to build best practice library in line with the Academy game model.

Training and Player Development
Film all training sessions, and share with relevant staff/players on HUDL for immediate review.
Clipping training into segments to assist breakdown and documentation of the session.
Create video clips in line with training objectives and game model for framing purposes to support learning.
Proactively engage with coaches to support players Individual Development Plan by producing reports that provides insights to development and performance trends on both individual and team-level using data and video clips collected.
Obtain and manage elite example videos to support individual player development plans.

Pre-Match Analysis
Analysis of opposition match footage and share with coaches.
Present opposition analysis to coaches, highlighting key areas in 5 moments of the game.
Work with coaches to create pre-match video package, including contents such as clips from opposition analysis, training, best practice, and elite examples all linked to our game model.
Support coaches in the process of pre-match presentation to players, by ensuring information are presented and visualised in a clear and effective manner.
Communicate with upcoming opposition to organise match day set up (home and away).

Other Duties
Assist the Head of Academy Analysis with provision of analysis services across the academy.
Contribute to the development and innovation of the academy-wide analysis service.
Work with Head of Academy Analysis and academy coaches to develop the game model curriculum.
Support Head of Coaching to develop coaches by documenting and analysing coaching sessions.
Mentor and support placement students in weekly workflow and contribute to departmental CPD sessions.




Person Specification
Essential Desirable
Qualifications - A BSc (Hons) degree in a Performance Analysis or related subject, or working towards it -A postgraduate degree in a Performance Analysis or related subject
- Statistics background


-Football Coaching Qualification

Experience - Previous experience of Performance Analysis in an elite football club’s academy
-Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience working in the Professional Development Phase in an elite academy.
- Previous experience using HUDL, SportsCode and Spiideo systems

Knowledge - Have an understanding of industry leading analysis software including Spiideo, Sportscode, Hudl, Wyscout, Final Cut Pro, and Microsoft Excel.
- An understanding of current tactical trends and working requirements in professional academy football - In depth knowledge in databasing and reporting
- Understanding of apple-based programmes (pages, numbers etc.)

Skills -Adaptability to be effective in a dynamic, fast-paced
environment
-Strong communication skills in a variety of settings
- Possess exceptional IT skills; being efficient both on Apple and Windows platforms.
-Be able to manage time and balance workloads -Self-awareness and
