The role is based at Cambridgeshire FA HQ, Bridge Road, Impington, Cambridgeshire, CB24 9PH. We are currently operating a flexible hybrid working model with our staff splitting their time between site based and home working. We believe this maintains the benefits of home working, while allowing for collaboration, interaction, and business functions. The role includes some evening and weekend hours.

Job Description
The Football Development Officer – Male and Disability will support delivery of the Cambridgeshire Football Association 2024-28 Strategy and The FA Grassroots Football Strategy. We’re looking for a pro-active self-starter to work within our development team. This is a great opportunity to support the growth and retention of male and disability football in all formats (competitive and recreational) and strategically coordinate male and disability football provision across Cambridgeshire.
The ideal candidate will have experience of sports development and working with strategic partners.

General responsibilities:
• Achievement of the Male & Disability KPIs as laid out in the CFA strategy and operational plans.
• Use national and local data to understand and communicate the KPI position. Use this along with research and customer insight to identify gaps/demand to drive programmes and participation in grassroots football.
• Drive implementation of The FA’s and CFA’s growth strategy for male and disability football pathways locally.
• Provide or facilitate the development of all formats of football (competitive & recreational) that reflect changing participant behaviour and expectations.
• Facilitate the transition of players from youth to adult football.
• Drive participation growth via The FA recreational programmes such as Just Play (Adult Male) and Comets (Disability) by engaging a wide range of stakeholders and targeting a variety of participant groups based upon local demand.
• Lead and deliver the disability Talent Hub programme within the county.
• Work strategically to align current and future disability and inclusive football provision, ensuring an integrated approach across the County FA, English Football League Trust Club networks, alongside key partners from across the disability, health, education and community & voluntary sectors including, but not limited to, the support of Powerchair football.
• Retain and grow the number of affiliated disability football teams with an emphasis on the growth of youth and teams within accredited clubs.
• Collaborate with the competitions team to provide competitive opportunities via the Adult Disability League and implement a Youth Disability League.
• Strategically coordinate the delivery of a network of registered disability recreational football centres for male players across all age groups.
• Develop and support clubs and leagues to ensure they are safe and inclusive. Including collaborating with and coordinating the Disability Ambassador.
• Drive participation growth of walking football and 50+ football.
• Co-support and co-administrate with FDO team the Development committee, in collaboration with the committee chair.
• Provide the highest level of customer excellence to support volunteers across all FA Technology systems (FA Events, Whole Game System, Matchday app and Full-Time).
• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with the key stakeholders and develop regular contact to promote collaboration and sharing of good practice.
• Identify sources of funding that will be of benefit to key stakeholders and provide advice and guidance to applicants.
• Provide football development support and advice to clubs.
• Contribute to ensuring that safeguarding and equality are embedded throughout the Cambridgeshire FA and grassroots football. Ensure that the CFA’s effectively implement and maintain the FA's Safeguarding 365 within football. This includes the following:
• Risk assess all events and activities where the CFA directly employ or deploy under-18 and adults at risk referees, coaches and volunteers;
• Support messaging so that under-18s and adults at risk in youth and open-age adult CFA-led football know how to report any concerns about their wellbeing;
• Liaise with the DSO and follow through on opportunities to listen to and consult with under-18s and adults at risk on their experience of playing, learning and volunteering;
• Make use of young people and adults at risk feedback to enhance the experience and fun and safety in football.
• Raise the profile of football development in Cambridgeshire via marketing and communication, including good news stories.
• Ensure compliance with CFAs’ health and safety policies.
• Ensure understanding and awareness of generic Equality law and of good practice within sports equality.
Execute tasks as required to meet the Cambridgeshire FA changing priorities.
