Job Description: Cambridge Rugby is entering an exciting new phase in the development, building a strong commercial team to support an ambitious club that combines high-performance rugby with a substantial community club encompassing men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ sport.

We are particularly interested in people who are ambitious, commercially minded, energetic and comfortable taking ownership. Experience within rugby or professional sport is not essential. We are equally interested in talented people from Cambridge’s wider business, events, hospitality, sales, marketing and communications communities.

Title: Commercial Executive – Events & Hospitality
Reports to: Commercial Manager
Responsibility: Operational delivery of events and hospitality

Role Purpose:
To take operational ownership of Cambridge Rugby’s events and hospitality programme and deliver a consistently high-quality experience for members, supporters, sponsors, businesses and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the planning and delivery of Cambridge Rugby events.
• Operationally manage matchday hospitality.
• Coordinate corporate lunches, dinners, networking events and other functions.
• Develop and manage external venue-hire opportunities.
• Manage event enquiries and bookings.
• Produce event plans, schedules and operational requirements.
• Coordinate catering, facilities, suppliers, staff and volunteers.
• Manage guest lists, bookings and customer communications.
• Work with the Commercial Manager to develop new revenue-generating events.
• Support sponsor and partner events.
• Ensure commercial partners receive agreed event and hospitality benefits.
• Develop repeat business from existing customers.
• Maintain event calendars and forward planning.
• Monitor attendance, customer feedback and event performance.
• Support wider club events where required.

What We’re Looking For:
Someone highly organised who enjoys making things happen. You will need to be comfortable dealing with customers, suppliers, sponsors, staff and volunteers and be willing to work some evenings and weekends around the Club’s event calendar.
This role could be suitable for someone looking for a part time or full time role.
