With over 50% of our diverse membership coming from lower socio-economic backgrounds, we are driven by a mission to build a unified, thriving wrestling family that changes lives and supports social mobility.As we launch our ambitious "Unleashing Potential (2025-2030)" strategy, we are seeking a skilled and committed Independent Non-Executive Director (Finance) to join our Board.This is a pivotal leadership position providing strategic financial oversight to ensure the sustainability and effective resource management of an organisation with a turnover of approximately £750,000 per annum.Key Responsibilities Include:Strategic Oversight: Reviewing financial plans and management reports to provide informed advice to the Board.Leadership: Chairing the Finance and Audit Committee and overseeing the annual audit.Governance: Ensuring high standards of financial probity and compliance with the Code for Sports Governance.Ambassadorship: Acting as a credible representative for British Wrestling with stakeholders and members.You do not need to be an expert in wrestling, but you must have a genuine passion for the power of sport. We are looking for:Qualified Professionals: A recognised accounting qualification with significant post-qualification experience.Strategic Thinkers: Experience in company financial strategy, policy development, and board-level decision-making.Commercial Mindsets: Acumen to advise on income diversification, sponsorship, and new commercial ventures.Inclusive Leaders: A proven track record of promoting diversity and inclusion.Details at a GlanceTerm: 4 years (with the possibility of a second term).Time Commitment: Approximately 1 day per month.Location: Meetings are a mix of in-person (Manchester/London), hybrid, and online.Remuneration: Expenses covered in line with policy.
