Lead Sport Psychology Support Organisation British University Taekwon-do League Salary Volunteer Location United Kingdom Contract type Volunteer Closing date 5 July 2026 Job Description Lead Sport Psychology Support ResponsibilitiesThe above individual would be expected to honour the following:Create, implement, and maintain a sport psychology support programme within the UK Student National Squad.Provide mental skills support to athletes in relation to performance, confidence, focus, resilience, preparation and recovery.Empower student athletes to achieve their full potential through high-quality support and guidance, serving as a key contributorto the ongoing progression of the BUTL support team.Contribute to the development and delivery of BUTL Sport Science resources through newsletters, social media content,workshops, and structured support frameworks.Role Expectations:Attend a monthly Sport Science Team Meeting (Remote)Attend a monthly All UK Student National Squad Staff Meeting (Remote)Monitor and respond to emails within 72 hoursAttend monthly squad training sessions as necessary, or hold a virtual drop-in as an alternativeDevelop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive sport psychology support framework for the UK Student National Squad,ensuring an evidence-based and consistent approach to psychological skills support and athlete developmentThe role does not hold specific hours as this is a flexible position catered to the individual. Expected hours would be sport scienceteam meetings, working with athletes, local/international squad events and set team meetings.Essential Requirements - Qualifications & ExperienceCurrently studying towards, or holding, a relevant qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Psychology, Sport Science,Coaching Science, or a related field.Demonstrable knowledge of sport psychology principles, including confidence, motivation, focus, emotional regulation, resilience,preparation, and performance routines.Understanding of evidence-based practice, professional boundaries, and scope of practice, with the ability to translate this intopractical support for student athletes.Experience providing sport psychology support, mental skills education, coaching support, or athlete development guidance in asporting, educational, or performance environment.Ability to tailor psychological skills support to individual and team needs while working within appropriate scope of practice.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, educate, and motivate student athletes.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary support team.Desirable RequirementsHCPC registration as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist, or currently working towards relevant supervised accreditation.Experience delivering workshops, presentations, or educational content to groups.Experience creating athlete resources such as worksheets, guides, infographics, newsletters, or social media content.Understanding of combat sport, weight-category sport, or student sport environments.
