Job Description
//Purpose//
The Designer is the creative production engine of British Triathlon — the person who ensures everything looks and feels unmistakably us. From a social media graphic to a fully dressed event venue, this role ensures that every visual touchpoint reflects British Triathlon's brand with consistency, quality and creative ambition.
Working across the whole organisation and reporting to the Head of Content & Communications, the Designer collaborates with colleagues in Content, Marketing, Commercial and beyond to bring campaigns, programmes and key moments to life. No two weeks look the same — and that variety is exactly what makes this role exciting.

//Key Tasks//
Brand Guardianship & Visual Identity
• Act as custodian of British Triathlon's visual brand, ensuring all design output across the organisation is consistent, distinctive and aligned to brand guidelines.
• Maintain, develop and police brand assets, templates and guidelines — including creating and managing a library of Microsoft Office and Canva templates that enable colleagues across the organisation to produce on-brand materials independently.
• Provide guidance and quality control on brand application across teams, partners and suppliers, flagging and resolving inconsistencies wherever they arise.
• Contribute creative input to brand development conversations, supporting the Head of Content & Communications with the evolution of British Triathlon's visual identity over time.
Multi-Channel Design & Production
• Design and produce a wide range of assets across digital and print channels, including social media graphics, web assets, email templates, brochures, posters, signage, advertising and promotional materials.
• Support major events with on-site brand delivery, from promotional assets and pull-up banners to broader event space design, working with external suppliers to ensure execution meets brief.
• Contribute creative input to kit design conversations with commercial and kit partners, ensuring brand consistency is reflected in athlete and team apparel.
• Create branded templates and assets for internal communications, presentations and organisational materials, ensuring a consistent look and feel beyond just the public-facing brand.
• Produce simple motion graphics and animated assets for social media where required, with awareness of AI-assisted design tools as part of a modern creative workflow.

Digital Asset Management & Print Production
• Manage British Triathlon's content asset library of photography, video and design assets, ensuring files are well organised, easy to locate and rights-compliant for use across the organisation.
• Manage image rights, music licensing and any other rights considerations across visual assets, escalating complex rights issues to the Head of Content & Communications.
• Brief, quote and manage relationships with print suppliers for all print production requirements, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget and to the required quality standard.
• Prepare and supply print-ready artwork files, managing the technical requirements of print production from initial design through to final delivery.

Collaboration, Briefing & Campaign Support
• Manage the internal design briefing process, working with teams across the organisation to receive, prioritise and deliver design requests in a clear and efficient way.
• Work closely with the Social Media Manager and Senior Content Executives to produce visual assets that support the content calendar, ensuring social and editorial output is well-designed and platform-appropriate.
• Support the Marketing Managers with campaign design across all funnel stages, producing assets for paid and organic campaigns, email marketing and partnership activations.
• Brief and provide creative direction to external freelance designers and agencies where additional capacity is required, maintaining quality and brand consistency across all outsourced work.

//Relationships//
The Designer reports to the Head of Content & Communications and works as part of the Content & Communications team, collaborating closely with the Social Media Manager, Senior Content Executives and PR & Comms Manager on a day-to-day basis.

The role works regularly with all three Marketing Managers to support campaigns, and with colleagues across Participation, Commercial and Customer Experience to deliver design needs across the wider organisation. Externally, the role manages relationships with print suppliers, external designers and creative freelancers.
