Job Description
Purpose

As Commercial & Brand Partnerships Manager, you will play a leading role in driving British Triathlon’s commercial growth through the development, sale, management and activation of strategic partnerships. You will help create innovative collaborations that deliver long-term value for brands, participants and the wider triathlon community whilst generating sustainable revenue to support the future growth of the sport.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the management and delivery of a portfolio of commercial partnerships, ensuring exceptional partner servicing and relationship management.
- Identify, prospect and secure new commercial partnership opportunities aligned to British Triathlon’s strategic objectives and commercial growth ambitions.
- Build compelling sponsorship propositions, rights packages, presentations and partnership sales materials for prospective and existing partners.
- Manage the commercial sales pipeline, including lead generation, outreach activity, proposal development, forecasting and reporting.
- Work collaboratively across Participation, Events, Performance, Membership, Marketing, Communications and Digital teams to deliver successful partnership activations.
- Develop innovative activation programmes that drive measurable value and outcomes for commercial partners.
- Support partnership renewals, commercial negotiations and long-term account growth strategies.
- Produce high-quality partnership reports, evaluations and recommendations that demonstrate impact and return on investment.
- Utilise market research, audience insights and participation data to support partnership strategy and commercial decision-making.
- Champion best practice commercial delivery standards across all areas of British Triathlon's partnership programme.

Relationships

Our new Commercial & Brand Partnerships Manager will report into the Director of Commercial & Brand Partnerships. The successful candidate will be an integral and valued member of the organisation and is likely to thrive through developing and maintaining close working relationships with colleagues across Participation, Events, Membership, Performance, Marketing, Communications and Digital teams, as well as commercial partners, agencies, event organisers, clubs, athletes and wider industry stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong understanding of sponsorship sales, commercial partnerships and activation planning.
- Ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Strong presentation, proposal writing and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management, organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of sponsorship measurement, ROI and ROO frameworks.
- Understanding of audience engagement, digital marketing and content activation.
- Proven experience in commercial partnerships, sponsorship sales, business development or account management.
- Experience managing and activating commercial partnerships

Desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Understanding of participation sport, national governing bodies or sports rights holder environments.
- Experience using CRM and sales management platforms i.e. Salesforce.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and developing commercial opportunities from prospecting through to contract completion.
- Experience creating sponsorship proposals, commercial rights packages and sales presentations.
- Experience managing partnership renewals and retention strategies
- Experience working within sport, events, media, entertainment or membership organisations

Qualifications
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience - essential.
- A full UK driving licence - essential.
- Degree qualification or professional qualification in Business, Marketing, Commercial Management, Sport Management or a related discipline - desirable.
