Job Description
As Events Manager, you will play a key role managing the event support service to enable the delivery and growth of high-quality events across Britain. This is a dynamic and rewarding position for someone who is passionate about events, thrives in a collaborative environment, and enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring exceptional customer service and the efficient issue of event permits in line with governing body standards. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of technical requirements. Whilst full training will be provided, we’re looking for someone who can learn quickly, adapt with confidence, and approach their work with a proactive, positive mindset. You will lead and support the team, ensuring exceptional service delivery and effective staff management.

Relationship management will be central to your role, alongside offering support and guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders. You will take the lead on key responsibilities, including onboarding new event organisers, managing the Competition Rules, and overseeing the prestigious Age-Group major events. This includes coordinating the event bidding process and delivery of the British and English National Championships, ensuring all events are professionally led, thoroughly planned and executed to a high standard.

Strong organisational and interpersonal skills will also be essential to succeed in this role. You'll work in a fast-paced, friendly, and supportive team environment, balancing desk-based responsibilities with opportunities to connect with stakeholders and attend events around the country. Whether it's collaborating with the team, progressing projects, or supporting event delivery in the field, you will enjoy a varied role.

You’ll report to the Head of Events and be a valued member of our small, close-knit Events Team. British Triathlon prides itself on a positive and inclusive culture, and we are committed to supporting your personal and professional development. The Events Team sits within the Development Directorate, so your work will also contribute to wider goals around increasing participation and diversity in triathlon.

We’re looking for someone with experience in event delivery and service management, who can bring their knowledge and insight to support the team. Whilst direct event delivery is a component of the role, the primary focus is on enabling and supporting others to successfully deliver events, ensuring they have the guidance, tools, and oversight needed to meet high standards.

This role benefits from our flexible hybrid working model. Team members are based at our Loughborough head office two days per week (between Tuesday and Thursday), with the option to work flexibly on Mondays, Fridays and another day, ensuring a healthy balance between collaboration and autonomy.

British Triathlon offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
• 25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service, enhanced with a flexible holiday buying scheme
• Your birthday off to celebrate however you wish
• A commitment to your development, with weekly time ringfenced
• 2 days paid volunteer leave
• Free and accessible parking outside the Loughborough head office
• Pension scheme, life assurance scheme, and private medical insurance to care for you and your loved ones
• Support for a healthy lifestyle, including discounted gym membership and a cycle to work scheme

British Triathlon is passionate about developing an environment that makes Britain the world’s leading triathlon nation, enabling success and increasing participation. We’re looking for people who can bring skills and ambition to an inclusive, people-centred workplace, who are determined to create positive impact, and who value doing what’s right above doing what is expected.
