British Shooting is looking for a Programme Manager who can quickly build trust and relationships, lead and inspire the programme’s people and deliver world-class programme delivery and logistics by empowering those around them.The successful candidate will work with the shotgun programme and work with a brilliant team of coaches and support staff, becoming a significant part of the senior leadership set-up. They will be responsible for driving and delivering performance in shotgun and for creating an environment of high support and challenge. They will also provide a high level of administrative delivery and leadership. The successful candidate will lead the team and the discipline with high pride and low ego. Externally, they will forge key relationships with stakeholders such as UK Sport, BOA, UKSI, CPSU, BEAA, ACT, UKAD. British Shooting is proudly decentralised. In practice, this means significant travel to multiple performance hubs in the UK and overseas and leading a team that is often working remotely. The successful candidate will need to thrive in this reality, approaching it with resilience and flexibility.Major event leadership will also be central, with the programme manager able to lead the shotgun team at World Cups and Major Championships, able to set the tone, lead through pressure, and ensure seamless delivery across competitions.This is a role for someone who can blend exceptional people leadership with excellent operational design and delivery. They will also consistently show up to the environment with both high energy and high clarity, and role model a can-do attitude. They will also be able to work with the team to effectively design and deliver programme activity and support and monitor athlete progress. They won’t duck tough conversations but will always lead with care. The successful candidate may bring a background in elite sport (although not essential), but they will understand what it takes to drive sustainable success in a multi-disciplinary, often decentralised, high-performance environment. Emotionally intelligent and composed under pressure, they will be able to adapt their communication style across multiple audiences, from Olympic athletes and coaches to UK Sport representatives, to board members and international partners.Most of all they will care for the team, the people, the sport, and the journey to LA 2028 and beyond.
