British Rowing is entering a decisive phase of growth and renewal. Our new Events Delivery Coordinator will not only support our Events Manager and the volunteer Organising Committees with the development, planning and implementation of our various British Rowing Championships, but will also be instrumental in broadening our event offering in order to open up rowing to more people in more places.

A bit about the role

British Rowing is looking for an organised and passionate individual to contribute towards the development of the British Rowing Events portfolio. Working to support the Events Manager and volunteer Organising Committees, the role would suit someone who is keen to develop their knowledge and experience within sporting events.

What you’ll be doing

No two days are likely to look the same in this exciting role which will support the planning and delivery of the British Rowing Championship Events. Key responsibilities will include;

- Acting as overall lead for an agreed selection of our Championship events.
- Coordination of accommodation and catering arrangements, and suppliers for all Championship events.
- Assisting with recruitment, retention and remuneration of volunteers.
- Support with administration of finance process
- Working as part of the Events and Competitions team to review and develop the overall event offering (competitive and non-competitive) across the sport to make rowing more relevant, connected and accessible.
- Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team to jointly develop and agree on event marketing and communications plans.

A bit about you

There will be plenty of opportunities to learn with this role. In particular, we are looking for an individual with the below attributes:

Essential Criteria
- Strong planning and organisational skills with evidence of delivering to deadlines.
- The ability to build and sustain relationships with a network of key people internally and externally.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and negotiation skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- A proactive, self-starting approach with a willingness to travel and work flexibly (including some evenings and weekends).
- IT literate.
- Passionate about sport.
- Calm under pressure.
- Eagerness to innovate and a desire to learn.
- A UK driving licence and the willingness to drive a van to/at events where required.

Desirable Criteria
- Has worked/volunteered at sporting events previously.
- Awareness and understanding of the sporting events landscape in the UK.
- An understanding of venue operations.
