Location Remote Contract type Fixed Term Closing date 28 May 2026 Interview date 5 June 2026 Job Description We are requesting quotations for an independent consultant to undertake a strategic review and governance reform project between the Mountain Training Network and the British Mountaineering Council, with the aim of recommending an option or options to deliver a structure which ensures:1. greater financial sustainability and simplification in governance 2. greater synergy between the wider Mountain Training network and the BMC3. optimum candidate/member journey for customers of all organisations. The independent consultant should demonstrate:• Experience in organisational design, finance and governance, or structural reviews in the voluntary, sporting, or qualification sectors.• Understanding of the role and constraints of a regulated awarding organisation.• Understanding of membership organisations and ideally an understanding of UK wide networks.• Strong analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.• Independence from all organisations involved in the review.It’s important for the reviewer to be cognisant of the whole Mountaineering governing body network across UK and Ireland.It is envisaged the project to be up to a maximum of 40 days with the majority being online work.
