Performance Administrator (GB Climbing) Organisation British Mountaineering Council Salary £12,500 (£25,000 FTE) Location Manchester Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 3 February 2026 Interview date 24 February 2026 Job Description Due to an increase in our UK Sport funded Olympic Sport Climbing Programme and exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Performance Administrator to join the BMC to provide support to the Olympic Programme Officer and the wider Performance Department, ensuring that administration processes run smoothly and efficiently. This varied role offers on experience and development for someone looking to take their first steps in Sports administration, and requires good communication, planning, and organisational skills to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include administrative duties such as, registration and licensing, financial tracking, athlete database maintenance, ensuring event approval processes are completed, and arranging training and competition logistics. The post holder will need to enjoy working in an informal and fast paced environment, supporting the performance team to deliver the BMC objectives. SPECIFIC WORK AREAS • Supporting the nomination and registration process for World Climbing (IFSC) licenses and competition entries. • Ensuring the athlete database kept up to date in line with data protection requirements. • Ordering and distributing kit and equipment for Performance staff and athletes in a timely manner, keeping an up-to-date inventory. • Processing invoices and expense claims to ensure prompt payment, maintaining financial logs as required. • Maintaining payment collection systems (Spond) for athlete fees within the Olympic Programme. • Supporting the Performance Advisory Group (PAG) to run effective meetings with appropriate and timely documentation, including minute taking. • Supporting team meetings for the Performance Department, with minute taking and action tracking • Supporting the Olympic Programme Officer with logistics including booking transport, venues, accommodation, etc. • Following BMC policies and procedures to facilitate event attendance, including completing risk assessments, safeguarding and event approvals, and that all events are entered on the BMC event calendar. • Supporting the operation of the BMC’s elite training centre (ETC) once established so it runs to enable the best training environment for GB Climbing athletes and staff. Acting as the point of contact for the BMC Operations and for the facilities management in relation to equipment and health & safety, and logistics. • Supporting the development of GB team Performance Programme documents and maintaining templates. • Dealing with general enquiries by telephone and managing the GB Admin email inbox, taking action as appropriate. • Support the Olympic Programme Officer with anti-doping administration. • Carry out any other duties as required by the organisation.
