Job Title: General Secretary
Primary Location: Remote
Reports to BISHA Board
Hours: 25 per annum

British Inline Skater Hockey:
British Inline Hockey was officially recognised as a UK Sport in the 1980’s and was formerly known as Street Hockey played in Inner Cities. As the sport evolved so did the International Organisation (IISHF) and since the 1990’s Team GB have competed at International Level collecting many medals at all age groups. In the UK we are aiming to reestablish the sport as both a fun social activity and also nurture talent to be able to compete at the very top level of the sport #Street2Elite

BISHA Board:
The New BISHA Board was formed in 2020 with the remit to ensure we have a structure and constitution in place to develop and implement strategic growth and be accountable for the execution. The new board is very diverse and committed to our historic values, but also determined to embrace new people, working practices, process and technology to both cultivate and excite the current and prospective membership while continually keeping the Skater Hockey community engaged #HockeyFamily #SkaterHockey

Role Purpose:
Providing administrative support to the board ensuring the governance is organised and appropriate records maintained for communication and compliance.

Personal Specification:
Able to build and maintain excellent working relationships, a good people organiser and assertive when required. They must take professional approach and be able to manage confidential and sensitive information.

Responsibilities:
• Board administration, record keeping, coordination, scheduling, and communication.
• Arrange all meetings, agenda distribution, minutes taken, documentation, invitation and publication.
• Record keeping of club stakeholder representatives.
• Coordination, distribution and communication of company information.
• Providing advice and resources to the board on governance issues, state laws etc.
• Custodian of the organisation’s records.
• Second signatory on the organisations accounts.
• knowledgeable of the organisation’s records and related materials, providing advice and resources to the board on topics such as governance issues

Essential Skills:
• Excellent organisational skills
• Pleasant & friendly with good communication skill
• Excellent command of written and verbal English
• Ability to work for more than one person and good team player
• Computer literacy
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
• Good educational background
• Governance experience

There will also be a 6-month settling period associated with this role as we identify the right collection of individuals to take the sport forward and allow candidates to get a feel for the role and comfort with the commitments.
