This is dual based role working from Lilleshall National Sports Centre, nr Newport, Shropshire (min 2 days a week) and home. The role will require flexibility regarding travel and evening and weekend working, due to the requirements of the role.

Job Description
Role Summary:

The main purpose of the role is to implement the performance services systems and processes to ensure efficient delivery of the World Class Programme (WCP) across the British Gymnastics disciplines. This will involve the effective planning, delivery and monitoring of performance services. *Please refer to the Role Profile for full details*

Main Areas of Responsibility:

1. Deliver Performance Services systems and processes
· Support the assessment of the Performance Service delivery for efficiency and effectiveness in relation to the Vision and Strategy of the World Class Programme.
· Work with the Performance Management Team to generate ideas and solutions for the improvement of processes to the service delivery model resulting in improved efficiency and effectiveness.
· Deliver Performances Services activities to improve the ‘customer’ service and experience.
· Process all expenditure relevant to the discipline/s; monitoring/reporting against budget on a monthly basis, where applicable attending budget and forecast meetings and liaising with the Performance Services Manager to report budget progress.

2. Deliver the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the Performance Services Team
· In conjunction with the Performance Services Team, develop a range of SOP’s to improve consistency and alignment and customer experience across all disciplines.
· Work with the Coaching teams and Sport Science and Medicine Team to embed the SOP’s in a suitably aligned manner that supports the Performance Team Strategies for the LA Olympic Cycle.
· Regularly review and update SOP’s to ensure they remain live and relevant.
· Support the Performance Services Department to ensure all staff members remain up to date with SOP training

3. Performance Services Database Implementation.
· Work with the Performance Data Team to implement the Performance Services Database aligned to the needs of the Performance Disciplines. e.g. Athlete/Coach/Official data management, event planning and entry, FIG license management, medical information, squad information, etc
· In conjunction with the Coaching Teams and Sports Science & Sports Medicine team, evaluate the ongoing revisions required to improve the functionality, user experience and efficiency of the Performance Services Database on a regular basis.
· Support the Performance Data Team with producing reports as part of tracking and benchmarking of progress against the overall strategy.

4. Performance Services planning and delivery
· Work closely with the Head National Coach to co-ordinate the programme/calendar of events for designated discipline/s, including the production and distribution of the calendar of events, competition notifications, selection criteria, camp and competition details etc.
· Managing/ monitoring the logistics, administration and financial expenditure for training camps, competitions and Internationals, including the organisation of travel, transport, facilities, equipment, kit, medical cover, welfare cover, FIG licenses, consent forms etc.
· Fulfilling official duties as required e.g. pastoral care at major/home competitions, training camps.
· Be the main point of contact for the technical committee, to provide assistance in relation to facilitate of the administration, finance and logistics processes, within the programme.
·Attending British Championships for designated discipline/s to support the work of the Organisation and TC and represent the Performance Services Team.
· Providing a first point of contact for the athletes/coaches/parents; answering/fielding/escalating technical queries where appropriate e.g. prescribed medication, selection criteria, competition equipment etc.
· Ensure Performance kit is managed aligned to squads and international events

Role requirements

1. Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
To be effective in this role the holder will require:
· Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
· Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high attention to detail Confidence using IT systems and databases, with a sound understanding of budgets and financial processes Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately Flexible to work evenings, weekends and travel as required.
· Enhanced DBS disclosure

2. People
Whilst there is no formal line management responsibility, this role requires the holder to:
· Work collaboratively across teams, building positive and professional relationships
· Co-ordinate the activities of others providing them with clear instructions and documentation
· Professional approach to handling sensitive performance, medical and welfare information
· Self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to personal development and a high-performance culture
· Contributing to the development of a dynamic Performance Services team through commitment to a high-performance culture of people and performers
· Self-motivated and able to work under her / his own direction to achieve stated objectives within the necessary timescales.

3. Shaping Direction
This role requires the holder to coordinate, plan and monitor a broad range of activities on an annual cycle, including:
· Ability to support Squad or Team selection processes and related communications.
· Ability to organise events, camps or competitions, including logistics and documentation.

4. Developing Solutions
This role requires the holder to be;
Solution focused, adaptable in their approach, with the ability to manage change, competing priorities and last-minute changes calmly and effectively
· A willingness to reflect on decisions to support continuous improvement

5. Decision Making
This role requires the holder to:
· Recommend ideas and show reasoning for changes to processes, procedures and programme, making sure decisions relating to the programme are within policies and have the customer at the heart of the changes.
· Monitor financial expenditure and prepare/present information at JTC, team and budget meetings, where required.
·Ability to reflect and review decisions to better inform future practice.

It is anticipated that decisions relating to programmes will be made in conjunction with the Performance Services Manager and the TCs, but it is anticipated that the role holder will contribute independent and original ideas, lead on projects and research/make suggestions in relation to best practice, using initiative wherever possible.

6. Communicating
The role holder will be the first point of contact for designated TCs, elite athletes/national team/squads, their coaches and parents; therefore, demonstrating the below skills:
· Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, adapted to different audiences
· Demonstrates emotional intelligence, professionalism, and a commitment to high standards of customer service and confidentiality.
