Gymnastics isn’t just a sport—it’s a powerful force for change.

We believe in the power of gymnastics to change lives, enrich communities, and deliver an uplifting gymnastics experience for all across the UK.

At the heart of this are the people who make up the gymnastics community – gymnasts, parents, coaches, clubs, officials and volunteers – working together in communities across the country. As the national governing body for gymnastics in the UK, we work in partnership with our members to lead, support and inspire, helping to shape a bright future for our sport.

Our vision, Leap Without Limits, is underpinned by the values of being Aspirational, Supportive and Inclusive. Together, we’re building a sport where everyone feels welcomed, encouraged and able to thrive. This role is an important part of making that vision a reality.

The Opportunity
We are looking for detail-focused and proactive Event Systems Officer to join our Events Team. This role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of event systems, supporting online entry processes, and delivering accurate scoring and results services at major competitions. You will work closely with Technical Committees and Event Managers to provide an efficient and positive experience for British Gymnastics members.

Main responsibilities
As part of our dedicated Events Team, you’ll:
• Maintain and develop event systems, facilitate online entry to competitions, and support the delivery of scoring and results services at nominated events.
• Contribute to system improvements that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain event systems, including setting up events in MyBG and applying technical specifications and rules.
• Work with Event Managers and Technical Committees to publish competition handbooks and maintain event information on the British Gymnastics website.
• Manage data transfer between online entry and scoring systems, producing reports and alerts to improve user experience.
• Lead the installation and operation of BG Score at designated events, including training judges and volunteers.
• Ensure planned system maintenance and testing is completed before events and manage any technical issues during delivery.
• Attend nominated events to support set-up, breakdown and scoring services, including publishing results and graphics.
• Respond to public and internal enquiries regarding event systems and processes, providing excellent customer service.
• Support financial administration, including processing income and expenditure and monitoring event budgets.

About you
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Excellent planning, organisational and administration skills, with attention to detail.
• Confidence in using IT systems and an aptitude for learning new technologies, including event and scoring systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and adapt to changing deadlines.
• Knowledge of event planning processes, budgeting and health, safety and welfare considerations (or willingness to learn).
• Problem-solving skills and initiative to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers and external partners to achieve shared goals.
• Understanding of gymnastics events, competition rules and scoring systems (desirable, not essential).
• Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends or evenings to support event delivery.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional experiences for members and stakeholders.
• A commitment to creating an uplifting experience for all.
How to apply
Further details about the role and how to apply visit: https://britishgymnastics.jobs.people-first.com/jobs/search If you don’t meet every point above, please don’t let that hold you back, we value potential, lived experience and a genuine commitment to our vision just as much as formal credentials. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organisation. We particularly welcome applications from women, people with disabilities, people from ethnically diverse communities, and people who identify as LGBTQIA+, as these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce.
