Job Description: Gymnastics is an amazing sport that has the power to have a positive impact on people, communities, and our society, helping to build foundations for life for all those who take part. At the heart of that in the UK is the gymnastics community, made up of gymnasts, parents, coaches, clubs and other venues, officials and volunteers – together they form the fabric of a sport that is woven into local communities across the country.

As the UK’s national governing body for gymnastics, by working closely with our members who form this community, we aim to lead, support and inspire them to help build a bright future for our sport.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Board as a Non-Executive Director (NED) & Chair of the Finance, Audit & Risk (FAR) Committee. This vital role will become available in November 2025 following the completion of the current Chair’s term of office.

We are looking for an experienced professional with:

- A recognised accounting qualification
- Significant expertise in financial scrutiny, audit and/or assurance, and risk management
- Strong commercial acumen
- Previous experience on an audit and risk committee and/or as a committee chair

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued sustainability and strategic oversight of British Gymnastics. The successful candidate will support the organisation by ensuring rigorous scrutiny of accounts, effective risk management and robust assurance processes.

An understanding of the risks and opportunities associated with data and digital transformation would also be highly desirable.

Role Responsibilities:

- Act as a Non-Executive Director (NED) on the Board of British Gymnastics
Chair the Finance, Audit & Risk (FAR) Committee and report on its activities to the Board
- Ensure appropriate oversight of financial reporting, audit processes, risk and internal controls
- Champion the highest standards of corporate governance and help promote British Gymnastics externally
- Commit time to attend and prepare for Board and Committee meetings, and engage with our members and stakeholder
