Purpose of Role
The Sport Operations & Risk Management Manager will play a central role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of British Eventing’s sport operations. The role provides operational leadership using our sport data system to inform our sport safety and risk management frameworks.

Working closely with the Head of Sport to ensure that safety systems, performance monitoring processes and operational procedures are delivered efficiently according to British Eventing rules.

The position also acts as a key liaison between British Eventing, event organisers and officials to ensure smooth operational delivery of the sport.

Key Responsibilities
Sport Risk Management & Safety Coordination
• Support the operational delivery of British Eventing’s risk management framework in collaboration with the Head of Sport and Committees.
• Coordinate the management, administration and monitoring of medical suspensions and related safety processes.
• Mange the collection, collation and analysis of safety and incident data including event fall reports to support evidence-based safety improvements.
• Maintain national records relating to safety incidents, including horse injury reporting and related documentation.
• Coordinate the management and distribution of cross-country safety systems.
• Support the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Veterinary Officer with operational administration relating to event medical and veterinary provision.
• Develop safety, medical and veterinary procedures within British Eventing rules.
• M/1ange incident reviews and provide appropriate responses to member enquiries relating to 74safety matters.

Performance Monitoring & Sport Data
• Manage operational processes relating to Continuing Performance Requirements (CPR) and communicate with members regarding compliance and progression.
• Produce and distribute EquiRatings Quality Index (ERQI) reports for events and officials where required.
• Manage, with EquiRatings, the analysis and reporting of sport performance and safety data to assist strategic decision-making.
• Liaise with British Eventing Support Trust to ensure members are supported in recovery.

Officials, Course Design & Technical Oversight
• Manage the application, certification and record management for Cross Country Course Designers and Builders and Controllers.
• Provide administrative and executive support to the Cross-Country Advisory Group (XCAG) & Equine Welfare Committee.

Key Relationships
• Internal Head of Sport,CEO, NSO, Chief Medical and Veterinary Officers, Cross Country Advisory Group, BE Officials.

External
• Event Organisers, British Eventing Members, Cross Country Course Designers and Builders, Controllers, EquiRatings, Eventing Scores, BETA, BEF and Member Bodies and other safety organisations.

• Ability to manage extensive complex projects
• Ability to work independently and deal with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong organisational and coordination skills within a complex operational environment
• Able to work independently and make quality decisions quickly
• Ability to manage data and reporting processes accurately
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders and committees
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience within sport or sport governance
• Knowledge of sport safety, risk management or competition operations
• Experience with sport data systems or CRM platforms
