Role Title: Community Developer – West Northamptonshire

Salary: £25,000

Fixed Term Contract for 18 months (possibility for extension)

We are working towards our three key priorities outlined in our strategy; to support and grow the sport to make cycling more inclusive and accessible, to lead on the world stage by winning and winning well, and to drive social impact by tackling inequalities through providing opportunities.

What will you be doing?

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Community Developer to join the British Cycling Participation Team working in West Northamptonshire. This is a hybrid role with frequent travel around the area therefore applicants need to live within 30 minutes of West Northamptonshire.

Building and nurturing partnerships within local communities across West Northamptonshire to support the delivery of inclusive and accessible community cycling programmes.
Supporting local cycling clubs and groups through signposting, collaboration and pathway building.
Co-ordinating and delivering local community programmes aimed at children & young people, families and women & girls.
Developing the local workforce and community volunteers to ensure sustainability of the local programme.
Feed into the Development plan ensuring an integrated and coherent pathway of cycling opportunities in in place for West Northamptonshire and linking community cycling with clubs, schools, events and others.
Engaging and collaborating with local communities to develop the community pathway, raising awareness of the work of British Cycling & West Northamptonshire Council.
Growing & diversifying participation along with supporting more people to cycle more frequently from recreation to sport.
Support and build capacity through bespoke education course delivery, expanding access to courses to upskill the volunteer workforce within West Northamptonshire.
Actively participating in major sport and community events to promote cycling opportunities and raise the profile of community cycling initiatives within West Northamptonshire.
About you:

Sound knowledge of cycling an/or sport and the associated physical activity delivery.
Awareness of current development in cycling in terms of transport, health, and recreational agendas.
Track record in partnership working and development.
Experience of partnership programme delivery
Good organisational and project coordination skills with experience of being able to prioritise, plan and manage competing demands.
Experience of using social media to promote and engage audiences is desirable but not essential.
