Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Education Department at Bristol City Robins Foundation, as a Teaching Assistant on our BTEC Sport courses.

Salary: £22,544.20 term time only

We are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to work with students enrolled on our BTEC Sport courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3. This role involves supporting students with varying needs in the classroom including those on an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and with SEND. You will work within the class, ensuring students receive the individual support needed to succeed academically, holistically, and personally.


Your Main Responsibilities:
· Assisting a lecturer within BTEC Level 1/2/3 Sport lessons.
· Help students achieve their EHCP goals by implementing specific strategies and interventions outlined in the plan
· Guiding students through assessments, providing feedback, and helping them meet their target grades.
· Supporting a lecturer to monitor student progress, attendance, and behaviour, implementing interventions where necessary.
· Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student outcomes.
· Providing pastoral support to promote student wellbeing and adhering to safeguarding protocols.

You will have:
· Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one e.g. HLTA - We will support in funding a suitable qualification for the right candidate (Essential)
· Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young learners with varying needs.
· Previous experience of working with students with SEND and EHCP’s, providing tailored support.
· An ability to support the delivery of engaging BTEC lessons
· Experience in providing feedback and guidance to help students achieve their target grades.
· An ability to support with monitoring student progress, attendance, and behaviour, with interventions when necessary.
· Strong behaviour management skills, promoting positive engagement.
· An ability to build positive student relationships to support academic and personal development.
· Strong communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and other key stakeholders.
· Knowledge of safeguarding policies and best practices in an educational and sports setting.
· IT literate.
· Full UK Driving License

Contract: Permanent, term-time only (39 weeks) - Starting w/c 25th August 2026

Candidates will be expected to put time into self-development before their start date. The role will be offered subject to an Enhanced DBS check and self-disclosure form.
