Job Description
Job Title: Academy Coach (as part of the Coach Inclusion & Diversity scheme)
Location: American Express Elite Football Performance Centre, Lancing
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time to include evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will divide their time between our employment and the Premier League Coach Development Programme.
Job Type: 23-month fixed term contract
Deadline Day: 18th July 2025

Interview dates: 30th – 31st July 2025 (in-person at our training ground)
Start Date: From September 2025 (pending completion of safer recruitment checks). It is a mandatory requirement that you can attend the Premier League induction days on 29th September 2025 to 2nd October 2025.

The scheme is open to all, and we particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and mixed heritage backgrounds, and women, as they are underrepresented groups amongst the coaching roles that exist across the professional game.

BHAFC in partnership with the Premier League, is proud to support the Coach Inclusion & Diversity Scheme for the 2025/26 season. The Coach Inclusion and Diversity Scheme, Season 2025/26, will provide a high-quality fixed-term employment and development programme to the successful candidate.
We are encouraging applicants who are aspiring to coach in a professional capacity, so that football better represents the wider communities in which it is played, enjoyed and serves. Having greater diversity helps the club perform better on and off pitch.
What is the opportunity with Brighton & Hove Albion FC?
We're offering a 23-month, full-time academy coaching role to the successful candidate to support the development of the next generation of football coaches. Coaches will have the opportunity to rotate within a multidisciplinary team across all age groups of our boy’s pathway in a coaching role. Although the role will predominantly work within our Foundation Phase, it is a fully integrated and intensive programme which is designed to accelerate the successful candidates’ coaching knowledge and ability to better equip them for a sustainable career in full-time coaching.
Your development journey will include:

🔵 Mentoring and tailored support
⚪ Immersive learning experiences
🔵 Workshops, peer learning, and reflective practice
⚪Access to FA/UEFA qualifications

On successful completion of all programme elements, you’ll be awarded a Diploma in Professional Football Coaching from Leeds Beckett University.

Your experience and qualifications
To be considered for this role coaches must not have had previous experience of holding a full-time coaching role in either a Premier League or EFL club at first team or academy level.

We are looking for a coach who has a passion for player development and a drive to coach in the professional game. You will have resilience, excellent communication and relationship building skills and be a role model to our academy players and a desire to be an ambassador for diversity in the game.

You will hold the following qualifications:

🔵 UEFA B licence
⚪ In-date FA Safeguarding certificate
🔵 In-date FA Emergency Aid certificate
⚪ Enhanced DBS certificate (to be arranged via the club)
