Job Description
BOXING Scotland are seeking to recruit an outstanding candidate to fulfil the role of Boxing Development & Inclusion Officer (DIO) in the Eastern District.

This is an exciting time to join the only National Governing Body for the sport of Olympic-style boxing in Scotland, with Glasgow set to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games next summer.

The principal role of the DIO will be;

– To develop grassroots participation in the sport across the country.

– To develop the sport by increasing the number of people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds participating in all aspects of Boxing Scotland.

– To develop and support clubs to become and continue to be sustainable and, in doing so, to maintain positive and constructive communication with clubs.

– To improve the diversity and inclusion of people from all backgrounds and characteristics participating in the sport and to embed equality and diversity in all aspects of the delivery of the sport in Scotland.

The role will primarily be assisting with boxing activity in the Boxing Scotland Eastern District, which comprises the Local Authority areas of Clackmannanshire, City of Edinburgh, Falkirk, Fife, East Lothian, Midlothian, West Lothian, Stirling and Scottish Borders.

The DIO will refer directly to a variety of strategies, protocols, policies, and frameworks in undertaking the role. These will inform the activities, tasks, direction, objectives, delivery and outcomes of the role.

– The Boxing Scotland Strategic Plan 2023-27

– The Boxing Scotland Development Strategy 2023-27

– The Boxing Scotland Equality Strategy 2023-27

– The Boxing Scotland Development and Inclusion Action Plan 2023-27

– The Boxing Scotland Safeguarding Strategy 2023-2027

– The Boxing Scotland Ethical Framework

– The Code of Conduct for Staff
