Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, customer-centric and highly organised Events Officer with a can-do attitude to join our dynamic team. Working closely with our Events Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of Bowls England’s events programme, with a particular focus on the World Bowls Championships in July 2027, which we are excited to be hosting, and our flagship National Finals in August 2026 and August 2027.
This role offers a unique chance to gain invaluable experience in the events industry, as part of the core delivery team for a major international sporting event and with colleagues who have delivered global events. Working within a small, hands-on events team in a National Governing Body, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of planning and delivery elements, gaining broad exposure and personal development opportunities throughout the contract.
About Bowls England Based in Royal Leamington Spa, Bowls England is the National Governing Body for lawn bowls, the format of the sport featured at the Commonwealth Games. In 2021 we launched our ambitious Fit for the Future strategy, focused on growing participation and building a sport that enriches lives, connects communities, and leaves a legacy.

At the heart of our work is a committed team of staff, a knowledgeable Board of Directors, a dedicated Presidential team and an incredible volunteer workforce. We are proud to champion a culture that is collaborative, adaptable, responsible and encouraging. We live and breathe our values, appreciate these qualities in others and look for these characteristics in new members of the team. If you’re collaborative, adaptable, responsible and encouraging, you’ll definitely fit in.
