Job Description
Job title: I.T. Support Technician
Department: Information Technology
Based at: Ewood Park stadium, Blackburn, BB2 4JF. Flexibility regarding location is required.
Reports to: I.T. Manager
Responsible for: General IT support 1st and 2nd line within the organisation. Assist in
Network support
Hours of work: 35hrs – based required at Ewood with travel to other sites required. Works

Job purpose: I.T. Engineer role is to provide support to the business over the phone or in
person or via remote software, they are responsible for maintaining the stock management of PC’s, laptops, mobile handsets and work with the IT apprentice to manage the building of PC’s and Laptops to the requirements of the business needs. They will assist the business in the adoption of M365 services and ensure employees have the support they need to succeed within the M365 environment. They will learn and support the business
needs in a wide range of systems including IT networks and wireless infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• To provide 1st & 2nd line technical support to all departments within the organisation
• To log all support calls on the fault logging system
• To manage the Inventory System and make sure the program is kept up to date and processes followed and routinely reviewed.
• To setup/configure I.T equipment, record and tag. Windows 11, MacBook’s, iPad’s, iPhone’s, access points etc.
• To provide technical support to the company’s mobile telephones and users.
• To provide match day technical support as per the I.T department Rota.
• To provide match day on call assistance as required
• To ensure all relevant equipment/systems are functioning prior to home matches
• To liaise with outside suppliers / support contactors as required.
• To evaluate equipment and follow IT Dept procedures for the acquirement of new equipment
• To acquire quotes and submit to the Head of IT when required.
• To manage stock levels and keep a record of equipment with stock checks
• To maintain a required number of PC’s, laptops, Mobiles ready for distribution when required
• To maintain a schedule of review dates of equipment so they are up to date with software and are kept in good working order physically.
• To generate proposals when required or requested by the Head of IT.
• To utilise IT software for communication, task tracking and documentation within the IT Dept.

Desirable
• To install, configure, and test network components or devices whether physical or virtual
• To acquire and analyse network performance data to monitor network activity
• To optimize and maintain the performance of the network services or systems
• To Investigate and problem solve any technical network issues
• To undertake upgrades to the networks including physical and virtual
• To interpret written requirements and technical specifications
• To maintain accurate logical records when carrying out network tasks

Required Aptitude
The successful candidate will be highly motivated individual with prior experience in providing I.T. support and will be wanting to work within a small team to take the lead with supporting the business needs with M365 and office apps as well as windows and a range of other systems used by the business. They will be responsible in keeping the Inventory software up to date, log the help desk calls, make initial contact and resolve and help
maintain the equipment assigned to staff at all sites. They will also be required to help deploy equipment using autopilot and InTune, using the methods of the I.T. Department and manage or perform the pre-match day checks in a timely fashion of all the systems recorded on the I.T. Match check sheet. To schedule reviews of company equipment, so that it is kept up to date and in good working order. To be willing to travel to all sites when
required to provide support in person and remote support via remote access software. They will be experienced in using Microsoft 365 products and providing support to end users, products like Teams, Office, SharePoint. It is also advantageous that they have previously performed some 365 admin tasks such as user setup, Teams access and MFA.
The successful candidate will be trained and gain an understanding with a suite of programs used at the Football club, including an understanding of networking, Security and data protection. They will be highly motivated and have a keen interest in expanding their I.T. knowledge as they will gain valuable hands-on experience. (onsite training and official apprenticeships are available).

• Ability to articulate and log faults on the Helpdesk software.

• Active Directory & Group Policy
• Printer fault fixing
• Windows 11
• MDM knowledge (Intune/End point manager)
• Networking fundamentals
• Remote access software and remote helpdesk support

Desirable knowledge
• Switch configuration (Aruba)
• Wireless Access points (Meraki)
• Network management and fault finding
• VLAN configuration
• Physical network modes, ethernet, Fibre types, GBICS
• Active Directory & Group Policy

Qualifications Required:
Required: Qualification in I.T. or 2/3 years support experience minimum
Desired: Qualification in networking or experience in networking
