Location: London, UK (office-based 3 days per week) plus remote working
Duration: 1-year fixed term – Full-time - maternity leave cover
Reports to: Consultant
Compensation: £40,000 - £50,000

Role Summary

Think Beyond is a consultancy with sustainability and impact at its heart, and we’re looking for a passionate, talented and ambitious person to join us . This is an ideal next step for those with excellent carbon knowledge alongside more general environmental sustainability and social impact experience, to further develop their expertise and lead truly industry-leading projects and initiatives.


You will bring your carbon and wider sustainability and social impact expertise directly to our clients, advising them across projects and leading the operational delivery of programmes. As part of the wider Think Beyond team, you will support, and be supported by, the other experts in our team.


You’ll need to share our belief in positive environmental and societal change in and through sport. This doesn’t mean you need to have background experience within the sport sector, as we’re more interested in how you can use your mind and experience to deliver groundbreaking work.

Your Responsibilities:



Project delivery: (technical knowledge / requirements)



Support project delivery for our major clients, leading on smaller projects - which may include involvement in all or some of the following: discovery, analysis, strategy development, operational delivery planning and programme implementation, Specific tasks may include:
Contributing to the development of sustainability and impact strategies for clients – coordinating and facilitating client meetings and workshops to achieve this
Development of carbon inventories, including engagement and advisory support across client organisations for data collection and improvement, data screening, cleaning and analysis, interpretation of the carbon inventory/footprint
Development, and ongoing management of carbon emissions reduction plans for clients
Development and support of operational delivery plans across a range of social and environmental issues to deliver against strategies
Implementation of programmes that deliver against strategies
Development of impact measurement frameworks and dashboards to monitor progress against targets
Supporting operational delivery frameworks and management systems to international certified standards e.g., ISO20121, ISO14001, ISO50001
Creation of written project reports e.g., strategies, plans, annual sustainability reports, best practice guides that address specific audiences, alongside the coordinating the design and publication of these
Delivery of secondary / desktop research to support both client and internal needs


Project Management:



Support the senior lead in project managing the end-to-end delivery of projects to ensure a client’s brief, budget and timescales are met


Lead the project management for some clients ensuring all Think Beyond project processes are adhered to including:
Understanding the project plan, being knowledgeable about what needs delivering, by when
Tracking and delivering the completion of actions to ensure projects drive forward in an efficient and effective way
Communicating effectively to ensure that the team can work together as efficiently as possible


Ensure all key project documents including delivery plans, progress updates, presentations and outcome reports are presented to the highest standard in terms of quality, design and content


Support the ongoing growth of Think Beyond by:



Support business development including representation and presentations at events, proactive identification of opportunities to add value to existing client relationships , seeking new opportunities, and supporting the development of pitches to potential clients


Stay up to date with, and engage in, the wider environmental sustainability, social impact and sporting landscapes by doing additional reading and research. Identify key trends and insights to build own knowledge and to share with the Think Beyond team


What You Bring:



Experience

3+ years working experience including carbon and project management expertise
Broad knowledge and experience of sustainability issues relating to businesses, organisations, local community, national and international contexts – both social and environmental, and carbon accounting (including GHG Protocol and relevant standards)
Experience of both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
Sound knowledge and ability to deliver robust sustainability reports, track against KPIs and set targets


Skills – client facing

Ability to be client facing and support meetings, workshops, delivery of training
A passion for developing excellent relationships


Skills – project and team management

Excellent project management skills and exceptional attention to detail
Clear and confident written and verbal communication
An analytical mindset and problem‐solving skills
