Job Description
CORE PURPOSE
The Academy Kit and Operations Assistant plays a vital role in creating a high-performance environment that enables Bath Rugby Academy players and staff to perform at their best. Responsible for the preparation, management and delivery of Academy kit, equipment and operational support, the role ensures training sessions, festivals, fixtures and events are delivered professionally, efficiently and to the highest standard. Working closely with the Academy Operations Manager and wider Performance Team, the post holder will take pride in maintaining outstanding standards across kit, facilities, logistics and operational processes while providing exceptional service to players, coaches and support staff. The role will also provide operational support across the wider club when required
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, issue and maintain all Academy training, matchday and festival kit requirements.
• Ensure all Academy kit, equipment and medical supplies are prepared, transported and available for all Academy activities.
• Manage the collection, laundering, repair and storage of Academy kit and equipment.
• Maintain accurate stock records, undertake regular stock audits and identify replenishment requirements.
• Ensure all kit is correctly allocated, labelled and distributed to Academy players and staff.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation across all Academy kit rooms and storage areas.
• Attend Academy fixtures, festivals and events as Academy Kit Manager when required.
• Prepare, transport, set up and pack away all equipment for training sessions and fixtures.
• Liaise with coaches and support staff to ensure all operational requirements are delivered efficiently.
• Support the smooth delivery of home and away fixtures, ensuring all equipment and logistics are completed to the highest standard.
• Support the Academy Operations Manager with the planning and delivery of Academy activities, camps, festivals and events.
• Assist with company vehicles, including maintenance checks, cleanliness, driver logs and vehicle readiness.
• Undertake driving duties, including transporting Academy players, staff and equipment where appropriate.
• Support facility preparation, room set-up and operational logistics across Academy programmes.
• Assist with ordering, receiving and organising Academy kit and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure consistent operational standards across the club.
• Provide cover for operational colleagues during periods of absence where appropriate.
• Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the Academy Operations Manager, Head of Academy, Senior Kit Manager and Senior Rugby Operations Manager.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMTNS
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistently high standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with players, staff and external stakeholders.
• A proactive, flexible and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Physically fit and capable of undertaking manual handling tasks, including lifting and transporting kit and equipment.
• A customer-service mindset with a willingness to support colleagues across the Academy and wider club.
• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and occasional overnight travel, to support Academy training, fixtures and events.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.


Desirable
• Experience working within an elite or high-performance sporting environment.
• Previous experience in sports kit management, logistics, operations or event delivery.
• Experience managing stock control and inventory systems.
• Experience driving larger vehicles or transporting equipment.
• Knowledge of rugby union or an understanding of the demands of an elite player development environment.
• Experience supporting multiple stakeholders within a performance or sporting environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
• Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
• First Aid qualification.
• Manual Handling training.
• Experience or qualifications relating to logistics, operations or sports performance.
