Job Description
Level 2 Sports Turf Apprentice (Rugby)
Location: Bath Rugby, The Recreation Ground, Bath, BA2 4DS and Bath Rugby High Performance Centre, Farleigh House, Bath BA2 7RW
Reporting to: Grounds and Gardens Manager
Job Type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
Salary- £17,000 per annum plus funded qualification.
Contract: Fixed-term (18-month contract)

It boasts a strong, loyal and passionate fan base and home games are played at the idyllic Recreation Ground in the city centre.

The Role
Bath Rugby is excited to offer a unique opportunity for someone at the start of their career to join our Grounds & Facilities team as a Sports Turf Apprentice, based at The Recreation Ground – one of the most iconic venues in English rugby and the Bath Rugby High Performance Centre - Farleigh House.

You will be working closely with our experienced grounds staff to help maintain high-performance rugby pitches and facilities. This hands-on role will give you the knowledge, skills, and practical experience to become a confident and capable sports turf operative in an elite sporting environment.

This apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Myerscough College and University, an industry-leading provider known for their involvement in the national Trailblazer initiative and development of the Sports Turf Operative curriculum. They offer national coverage, flexible learning options, and a strong track record of successful delivery. Myerscough will also support the recruitment and selection process to help ensure we attract and retain the best candidates for this exciting opportunity.

During term time one working day per week will be reserved for studying towards the apprenticeship.

Location
Based at Bath Rugby’s Head Office, Farleigh House (BA2 7RW), with regular attendance required at The Rec in Bath city centre. Due to the rural location and limited public transport, applicants must live within commuting distance and have access to their own transport.
