Job Description
This is a rare and thrilling opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s most dynamic and inclusive sports. As our next Chief Executive, you will lead and develop a passionate, high-performing team of professionals, driving forward transformational change and high performance across all levels of the game.

We are the National Governing Body for basketball in England – a sport fuelled by passion, creativity, and the unstoppable drive of our communities. With nearly 40,000 licensed members – from players and coaches to officials and volunteers – we sit at the heart of a fast-growing movement that’s reshaping the sporting landscape. We ignite talent, build inclusive pathways from playground to podium, and play a pivotal role in defining the future of basketball nationwide.

This is your chance to shape the future of basketball in England to:

- Lead the delivery of our new strategic objectives for 2025/26 and beyond, whilst positioning the organisation as a bold, outward-facing body that leads by example and sets the standard for best practice.
- Drive commercial growth to ensure that our sport is fit for the future; commercially sustainable, and operationally excellent
- Champion innovation and sustainability: balancing innovation, whilst sustaining the rich heritage of the sport
- Elevate basketball’s voice and influence, articulating what Basketball England stands for and connecting deeply to our communities and partners.

With a proud legacy and a passionate community, we’re ready to raise standards, better serve our members, and inspire cultural change. We are looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking and a positively disruptive edge – we welcome those who may be new to the sector but are ready to challenge convention and redefine how basketball is developed and delivered in England.

We’re seeking a strategic, compassionate, and commercially astute leader who can bring clarity, energy, and purpose to our next chapter. You will be someone who understands the power of sport to drive social impact and who thrives on building trusted, collaborative relationships across a diverse stakeholder landscape – from Regional Chairs and grassroots clubs, to sponsors and Government.

You’ll be joining an organisation that is ready to be challenged, supported, and led with purpose. If you believe in the power of sport to genuinely change lives and want to lead one of the UK’s most exciting sporting bodies, we want to hear from you.
