Job Description
Defining National Sports Development in the UK

Baseball and softball in the UK stand at a pivotal moment.

We are seeking an outstanding Chief Executive Officer to lead Baseball Softball UK through structural reform, organisational integration and long-term growth by establishing a single, integrated, modern and financially resilient National Governing Body for both sports.

With Great Britain’s men’s baseball and women’s fast pitch softball teams on genuine qualification pathways towards the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics, and a shared ambition to unify the national domestic structure of the sports, this is a rare opportunity to lead meaningful transformation at the highest level.

This is more than a CEO appointment. It is a chance to shape the future of two Olympic sports in the United Kingdom.
________________________________________

The Opportunity

The incoming CEO will:

• Lead the merger of British Baseball Federation, British Softball Federation and Baseball Softball UK into one unified National Governing Body.
• Strengthen governance, financial sustainability and organisational clarity.
• Build confidence with key funding partners including Sport England and UK Sport.
• Align grassroots participation, club development and elite performance ambition.
• Unlock new commercial and participation growth opportunities across the UK.

The first phase of this role is about alignment and stability.

The next phase is about growth, visibility and Olympic ambition.

________________________________________

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a credible and values-driven executive leader who:
• Has experience leading organisational change and governance reform.
• Brings financial discipline and commercial acumen.
• Can unite diverse stakeholders behind a shared national vision.
• Is politically astute, resilient and decisive when required.
• A confident and capable ambassador on the national and international stage.
• Understands, or can quickly grasp, the dynamics of publicly funded Olympic sport.

You may come from sport or from another complex, stakeholder-rich environment. We welcome candidates from outside the existing sports network. What matters most is your ability to build trust, create clarity and deliver sustainable progress.
________________________________________

Why This Role?

Because opportunities like this are rare.

You will not be inheriting a finished system.
You will be helping design it.

You will lead structural reform that shapes the sport for a generation.

You will find yourself collaborating with players, coaches and administrators who are dedicated to the future development of Baseball and Softball.
You will build foundations that enable participation growth nationwide.
You will play a central role in positioning Great Britain on the Olympic stage in 2028.

If you are motivated by purpose, legacy and the challenge of building something stronger than you found it, we would love to hear from you.
