Regional Angling Development Officer - Yorkshire Organisation Angling Trust Salary £20k (£33k FTE) Location Yorkshire Contract type Permanent (Part time) Closing date 27 March 2026 Job Description The Angling Trust is seeking a part-time Regional Angling Development Officer (located in Yorkshire) to support the delivery of participation programmes delivered and supported by the Angling Trust and partners that are aimed at growing the sport of angling.The role is part-time, working 22.5 hours (3 days) per week and will involve some evening and weekend work.What you’ll be doing:Support the planning, organisation and delivery of interventions and events that provide opportunities for people to get into angling.Through direct and indirect interventions, increase the number of new anglers and retain existing anglers participating in all disciplines of angling across the counties in Yorkshire.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and partners that can contribute to the delivery of regional angling development plans. This includes licensed coaches, angling clubs, commercial fisheries, local Environment Agency staff, Active Partnerships, the angling trade and other organisations.Contribute towards the ambition of the Angling Trust’s Strategic Plan to Promote, Protect and Develop the sport of Angling in England and to increase membership and influence of the Angling Trust.Through increased anglers, support the Environment Agency in lieu aim of generating rod licence sales which are reinvested back into the sport.Contribute to our System Partner delivery plan in support of Sport England’s Uniting the Movement Strategy.Who you are:A competent angler with experience and knowledge of Coarse, Sea and or Game fishingHave experience in working strategically with sports clubs, coaches and volunteersHave an understanding of sport development principlesExperience of developing and managing effective partnershipsWhat will make you stand out:A passion for angling and creating opportunities for new people to enter the sportKnowledge and experience of coaching either within angling or other sports.Proactive and self-motivatedWhat’s in it for you:Salary of £20k (£33k FTE)Contributory pension scheme.25 days holiday pro rata (plus public holidays pro rata).Laptop and telephone, as well as any mileage, expenses, and TOIL.
