Women's First Team Manager Organisation AFC Wimbledon Salary London living wage Location Wimbledon Contract type Closing date 20 April 2026 Job Description AFC Wimbledon Women is a football team based in Wimbledon, London, and is part of the AFC Wimbledon family.Our women’s team play in the third tier of English football, as does our men’s team.AFC Wimbledon Women is looking to recruit a Women’s First Team Manager, who will lead and manage the women’s first team, drive performance, player development, and team culture.Key Responsibilities:Coaching & Team Management• Plan and deliver high-quality training sessions (Tuesday and Thursday evenings)• Select team squads and manage matchday operations• Develop and implement a clear playing philosophy and style• Conduct pre- and post-match analysisPlayer Development• Support individual player development plans• Identify strengths, weaknesses, and progression pathways• Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance environmentMatchday Duties• Lead the team during fixtures (league and cup competitions)• Manage substitutions, tactics, and in-game decisions• Ensure compliance with competition rules and standardsAdministration & Communication• Liaise with club officials, medical staff, and volunteers• Maintain attendance, performance records, and reports• Communicate effectively with players and club managementRecruitment & Retention• Assist in player recruitment and trials• Help build and retain a competitive squadPathway• Work with the Pathway committee and U18s manager to ensure playing philosophy is consistentEssential Requirements• Minimum UEFA B Coaching License• Experience coaching senior football• Strong leadership and communication skills• Availability for evening training and weekend matches• Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain)• Safeguarding & First Aid certifications (or willingness to complete)Desirable• Experience managing a team in a competitive league• Experience coaching women’s senior football• Talent identification or player pathway experience• Knowledge of sports science and performance analysis toolsHours & Commitment• 16 hours per week• Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7pm to 10pm• Sunday matchdays (with some midweek matchdays throughout theseason)Salary• London Living Hourly Wage How to apply Please send your CV and a short cover letter outlining your coaching experience and philosophy to women@afcwimbledon.ltd.uk by no later than 20 April 2026.
