The club’s men's team play in League Two, its women’s team play the third tier, and its Academy produces new generations of professional players while regularly beating the youth teams of Premier League and Championship sides.This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and driven individual who can play a key role in AFC Wimbledon’s journey over the next three to five years as it works towards long-term financial sustainability and successfully continues the greatest story in English football as a proudly fan-owned and ambitious club at the heart of its community.AFC Wimbledon are recruiting for a First Team Physiotherapist, based at our training ground and to attend all home match days at Plough Lane.The successful candidate will be a key member of the medical department and in collaboration with the medical team you will assist in the physiotherapy management of the first team players in particular; manual therapy and the delivery of rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes.Key Responsibilities:• Provide medical input to ensure players remain readily available and able perform to their potential. • Manage a caseload of players effectively and efficiently. • Daily manual therapy and soft tissue treatment for first team players. • Devise and supervise indoor and outdoor rehabilitation programmes• Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate information in order to meet professional standards. • Provide pre-game manual therapy at home and away fixtures as required. • Provide pitch side/gym-based medical support services as required. • As a member of the medical team, you will be expected to deliver and participate in the delivery of role-specific CPD.Qualifications & Experience:• BSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Sports Therapy. • Demonstrable skills to work well within a multidisciplinary high-performance team environment. • HCPC/BASRaT/SST registered. • Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (ITMIFF/ATMIFF/PHICIS/IMMOFP) • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills. • 2 years professional sports experience• Proactive mindset with the desire to learn and develop. • A full driving licenceDesirable: • Experience in a professional football team. • An understanding of strength and conditioning/sports science. • Knowledge of, and experience in, testing, profiling, and athletic screening of athletes. Salary: £28,000 per annumContract Type: Full time, permanentHours: 37.5 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends needed for events and home and away matches.
