Job Description
Ultimate Lacrosse Experience – Coach
Pay: £12.16 – £14.93 per hour (depending on qualification)
Hours: 8:30–4:30pm OR 9:30–5:30pm (venue dependent)
Travel Expenses: 30p per mile after the first 35 miles per day

Inspire young lacrosse players and deliver high quality coaching the Activate Way.

The Ultimate Lacrosse Experience is a 3 day lacrosse camp for children aged 7–16, offering a progressive, fun and challenging programme suitable for both beginners and aspiring superstars. Each camp forms part of the wider Activate Camps network, where children develop skills through sessions, gameplay, challenges and the end of camp Activate Games.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, skilled and safety focused Coaches to deliver exceptional sessions that motivate and support each young athlete.

Activate Camps provide fun, safe and engaging holiday camps designed to help young people develop their skills. Teamwork and positive attitudes are central to our programmes, with children earning points for showing BEST behaviour: Bravery, Enthusiasm, Sportsmanship and Teamwork.

The Role
As an Ultimate Lacrosse Experience Coach, you will deliver high quality lacrosse sessions, manage your own group, and ensure every child enjoys a safe, positive and developmental camp experience. You will use your enthusiasm and expertise to create engaging sessions and encourage children to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
Pre Camp
• Complete required Activate Camps training
• Complete onboarding tasks accurately and on time
• Understand the camp timetable and lacrosse curriculum

During Camp
• Present professionally in full Activate uniform
• Support camp setup and registration
• Deliver engaging Extra Time Club activities
• Help assess player ability and grouping on Day 1
• Supervise downtime (breaks, lunchtimes)
• Lead your own group of 10–15 children
• Deliver fun, technical and challenging lacrosse sessions following the curriculum
• Adapt sessions based on individual and group needs
• Ensure all children wear appropriate safety equipment (mouthguards, eye protection where needed)
• Take responsibility for safeguarding and wellbeing within your group
• Communicate with parents when required
• Support the Camp Manager with reasonable requests
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Report hazards or incidents promptly and professionally
• Encourage reflective practice, goal setting and teamwork
• Prepare your group and assist with end of day collection
• Lead a team during the Activate Games and implement the points system
Post Camp
• Pack away equipment safely
• Complete and submit coaching session logs
• Participate in a constructive staff debrief
• Prepare sessions and equipment for the next day

What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
• Strong safeguarding understanding
• Basic Health & Safety awareness
• Experience leading a group
• Passion for working with children
• Coaching Field Lacrosse qualification (or equivalent)
• Detailed knowledge of lacrosse
Desirable
• Good communication skills with parents
• Previous lacrosse camp experience
• Evidence of regular England Lacrosse CPD
