Job Description
Ultimate Lacrosse Experience – Coaching Manager
Salary: £15.17 per hour
Hours: 8:30am–4:30pm OR 9:30am–5:30pm (venue dependent)
Travel Expenses: 30p per mile after the first 35 miles per day (car share uplift available)

About Activate Camps
Activate Camps provides a fun, challenging and safe environment for children and teenagers to develop their skills through structured technical sessions, challenges, gameplay and the renowned Activate Games. Teamwork and positive attitudes are central to the experience, with participants earning points by demonstrating the BEST values: Bravery, Enthusiasm, Sportsmanship and Teamwork.
Each camp concludes with the Activate Games tournament, giving children the opportunity to showcase the skills they have learned and developed throughout their time with us.

About the Ultimate Lacrosse Experience
The Ultimate Lacrosse Experience is a progressive 3 day camp designed for children aged 7 to 16. It covers all aspects of lacrosse, offering a development pathway suitable for complete beginners through to experienced young athletes. The programme aims to build confidence, improve technical ability and enhance game understanding.

Role: Ultimate Lacrosse Experience Coaching Manager
The Coaching Manager plays a central role in the organisation, quality, safety and enjoyment of the camp. You will be responsible for the smooth daily running of the venue, working closely with Head Office, venue contacts, coaches and assistant staff.
You will set and maintain high standards across all areas, ensure that sessions run according to the curriculum and uphold a safe and professional environment. Alongside operational duties, you will also lead your own group and deliver high quality coaching sessions.
You will be the key point of contact for parents, ensuring a professional and positive experience from registration to collection.

Key Responsibilities
Pre Camp
• Complete Activate Camps training.
• Complete all onboarding tasks accurately and on time.
• Develop a full understanding of the camp timetable and curriculum.
• Support the grouping of children and creation of the timetable with the Camp Manager.
During Camp
• Present professionally and consistently in full Activate uniform.
• Support camp set up and the registration process.
• Deliver an organised and engaging Extra Time Club activity.
• Assist with grouping on Day 1 by assessing abilities and ensuring balanced groups.
• Lead a group of approximately 10–15 children.
• Deliver fun, challenging and technically progressive lacrosse sessions in line with the curriculum.
• Support and develop assistant coaches and coaches by observing sessions and providing feedback when appropriate.
• Assist the Camp Manager with any pastoral, safeguarding or injury concerns.
• Take responsibility for safeguarding the health, safety and wellbeing of all children.
• Communicate with parents where needed.
• Act as the main on site contact for Head Office.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the venue.
• Identify, react to and report hazards or incidents promptly and professionally.
• Support reflective practice and encourage children to celebrate achievements and set goals.
• Assist with end of day procedures to ensure all children leave safely with their belongings.
• Lead or support whole camp or team challenge activities, implementing the points system as directed.
• Complete all required paperwork, including registers, incident forms, pre session checks, hazard spotting and daily checklists.
• Lead the Super Star of the Day ceremony.
• Complete an equipment inventory on Day 1 and oversee equipment management.
Post Camp
• Pack equipment away safely.
• Ensure all coaching session logs are completed and submitted to Head Office.
• Participate in the staff debrief.
• Prepare session plans, equipment and materials for the following day.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
• Valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Previous experience in a similar coaching or management role.
• Level 2 England Lacrosse coaching qualification.
• Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety.
• Passion for working with children.
Desirable
• England Lacrosse Level 3 qualification or extensive lacrosse coaching experience.
• Strong technical understanding of lacrosse.
• Experience managing staff teams.
• Confidence communicating with parents.
• Previous experience in a senior role on a holiday camp.
• Experience training or mentoring coaches.
• Evidence of regular CPD.
