Coach – Holiday, Activity and Food (HAF) Camps

Location: Lifestyle Fitness, Salisbury (Avon Valley Academy, SP4 8HH)

Pay: £8.00 - £12.21 per hour (depending on age and experience) + holiday pay
Hours: The camp day runs 10-2pm with staff working from 9:30-2:30pm.
Contract: Seasonal / Temporary
Travel Expenses: 30p per mile after the first 35 miles per day (lift-share uplifts available).

About Activate Camps:

Activate Camps deliver fun, safe, and skill-enhancing sport & activity holiday camps for children and teenagers. Through teamwork, technical challenges, and gameplay, participants develop their skills while earning points for the exciting Activate Games.

About a HAF Camp:

HAF camps are for children aged 5-14 years who want to have fun during the school holidays! They are government-funded camps, created in line with the Marcus Rashford free school meal scheme- all children receive a free school meal. There is an emphasis on getting the children active and every camp is packed full of a combination of sports, activity, crafts, games, and challenges.

Your Role as a HAF Coach:

Lead a group of children, delivering engaging, fun multi-activity sessions.
Ensure the safety, fun, and development of your group.
Deliver structured and age-appropriate activities across a variety of sports and games.
Encourage teamwork and sportsmanship through our BEST (Bravery, Enthusiasm, Sportsmanship, Teamwork) ethos.
Maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment.
Support camp operations, including set-up, registration, and supervision during breaks.
Communicate with parents when required and contribute to the overall camp experience.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Passion for working with young children.
Basic safeguarding and health & safety understanding.
Experience coaching or playing sports.

Desirable:

Previous experience working on a holiday camp.
Childcare qualification.
Teaching/Coaching qualifications.
Strong ability to communicate with parents.
Knowledge of arts and craft activities.
